@dchokiebride3: I’m kind of glad I don’t have an early milestone baby. I’m having enough trouble adjusting to the fact that DS has grown up and is sitting by himself now! In regard to sleep, no advice, just the comment that it is tough to get too worked up over not sleeping when you have such a sweet little girl smiling up at you (though it doesn’t make it better either). At least that is the way it is for DS and the fact that he does not nap unless held. I’m hoping the sleep training at night will help naps during the day.

Oh cute babies!!!
Cecilia just had her 15 month appt, so I thought I’d check in. She’s 25% for height and head circumference but dropped significantly on her weight curve from like 40th, dropping several lines. I think we’re ok with that… She’s just a super picky eater!
She’s blowing through milestones. She walks, she talks, she says short sentences now. Right now she’s downstairs singing a song and saying “get down” (she’s in her high chair). This is such a fun age!
Here’s a pic from this week: (hardly a baby anymore. We’re gonna have to start a toddler update thread!)

@Pelikila: I should have mentioned that, while I’m obviously tired from my lack of consecutive hours of sleep, I don’t tend to complain about it. Because I feel like babies that don’t sleep well are “supposed’ to be fussy babies, but Kayla is SUPER happy…see photos! So while sometimes I just want to take a nap while she’s ALL OVER THE PLACE, I love that little smile and giggle. And she seems to have so much to say…if only I could understand her. 🙂

@dchokiebride3: I didn’t intend to imply you were complaining. More just saying I can sympathize and even with poor sleepers, a happy baby like you have (and me too) makes it all worth it.

Age: 3 months 2 days
Height & Weight: Haven’t weighed her in over a week but my guess would be 13 and some ounces. Height maybe 25 or so but just a guess.
Milestones: She had her first huge giggle last night! She’d been laughing but this was a long extended giggle, it was great and made me crack up, which made her crack up even more. She only rolls to her side, she rolled over from back to front several times when she was around 2 months and then hasn’t done it or really tried too much since. She’s getting better at grasping things with her hands but still is more interested in doing things with her feet, she turns on her music pull levers with her feet instead of her hands. She responds so much to music now, loves singing and tries to sing along.
Challenges: We’re not really on any sort of schedule, which has it’s perks but sometimes I wish I knew when she was going to need a nap. I’ve tried a couple times to just swaddle her at certain times but she just stares and wiggles until she gets out of it if she’s not tired. Or if I’m holding her so she can’t wiggle out of it she’ll just babble to me until I say fine, you’re not tired.
Sleep: Still going pretty well. She sometimes starts falliing asleep around 7-8 and then usually give her her last nursing around 11 pm and she’ll wake up between 6-8, though it’s usually more like 6 because the dogs decide they’re awake at that time and then she wakes up.
Breastfeeding: Going great, so wonderful now at 3 months. Not sore, she’s a pro, great bonding time. The only thing is shes gettio will more distractable so wants to play sometimes before shes full, and then will want nursed not too long after.
Weight loss: Dont keep track but within a couple lbs. Still working on toning. My abs felt like I’d pulled a muscle and still have a little pain sometimes so its been tricky trying to get in tough workouts.

Age: 7 weeks, 3 days
Height & Weight:
I gained 55lbs during pregnancy due to extreme swelling and pre-eclampsia. Down 42 pounds, 13 more to go!! My belly is still a wreck and my stretch marks are awful. : It is not going well. I am still extremely sore despite having a correct latch/position. I am starting to suspect he might be tongue tied because there is no other explanation and it almost feels like he is biting me sometimes. We have a doctor’s appointment next week so we’ll see what she says. Still working on this- he can sleep for 4-5 hours at a time, but of course it is never when we want him to sleep. Finally got a baby monitor this week so we are going to try him sleeping in his crib. He naps really well in his crib but at night we still have him in the bassinette. We have a great baby and he is very healthy. Just a little gassy- whoa he can really drop some stinkers. He smiled for the first time a few days ago. He’ll also focus on objects and track things. Tummy time has been going well and he has great head/neck control. I’ve also noticed that he can really scoot himself around in a circle during tummy time- he turns 90 to 180 degrees in about 10 minutes. He has not been weighed since he was 2 weeks old, but at that time he was 8lbs, 15oz and 23 inches long. At 6 weeks he hit a growth spurt so he his huge now. If I had to guess, I think he is at least 12 or 13lbs and maybe 24 inches in length.

Emi is 7 months 2 weeks.
Milestones: Crawling, even over pillows; Pulls herself up to stand, holds on to couch and cruises if a worthy incentive like the Itouch or Pocket videocam is around. Is pretty good at figuring out how to get down but still practicing. She says Dad and Hi Dad and Dada. Only heard Ma a few times, in the middle of the night crying…so it doesn’t count. No teeth yet! Likes to drinks from bottle with no nipple, says weekday caretaker (dada). For me, I made blackout curtains for baby’s nursery!
Challenges: see ‘sleep’ section!
Sleep: Still the same as before. 7:00pm until 6AM. Regular naps twice a day. Co-sleeping, waking up briefly to feed or comfort at 9pm-ish, 12AM and 3 am. The only good thing is that 9pm is more like 9:45pm and she sleeps in the crib from 7-9:45pm so I have been getting stuff done!
Feeding: Yes, still breastfeeding and ‘going for the gold’ (1 year). Added solids-including chicken, mum-mums and even straight up-toast. Mostly making food but added some jarred too. Considering baby-led weaning but concerned about choking.
Weight loss: plateaued..+3 lbs pre preg weight..haven’t been working out (boo!)

Mommy told him no standing on the couch!
Age: 4 months!
Height & Weight: 25(ish)in & 14lbs
Milestones: Rolling Back to Tummy, Holding Toys
Challenges: Juggling working from home with taking care of baby…but he’s totally awesome, very good baby…very lucky Momma
Sleep: 10 hrs!! We had to stop swaddling when he started rolling over and I was terrified he was going to wake up all night but the first night in the sleep sack he slept even better than he did in the swaddle.
Breastfeeding: We’ve come a long way (since I was about to give up) still going. I think I’m going to try to make it 6 mos and then start him on cereal at that point (just so we can get him introduced to different foods before he’s 1).
Weight loss: I’m still up 7 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight but I can’t really diet while breastfeeding so I have 2 lbs to loose to by “Breastfeeding Goal Weight” and then I’ll try to loose the other 5 after I stop.

Age: 3 months
Weight: Over 10 pounds (she was 10 pounds exactly on her 2 month check-up)
Milestones: I returned to work, she’s holding blankets, and she’s having conversations which consist of little noises at each pause when we talk to her
Sleep: She’s sleeping well in her crib, wakes around 4, and comes to sleep with us so I can feed her easily.
Weight Lost: Milestones: I can wear my pre-Wombat, but post-Moose pants. Sweet!

Age: 6 months 10 days
Weight: 20lbs 1oz at 26 weeks (yes you read that right and yes he is heavy!)
Milestones: CRAWLING! Sitting independently, talking up a storm! He just wants to go go go! Having sucessful EC cathes. He is also the happiest, healthiest, most enjoyable baby when his reflux and food allergies are under control and/or his mind is off of the reflux pain. I just love him to pieces!
Sleep: What is this?! We still are not sleeping. Basically AT ALL. No exaderation. Poor little man has “baby bags” under his eyes 🙁 He is still colic-like and his reflux is not under control at the moment so he spends all night tossing and turning.
Challenges: Food! Tried our first solid on his 6 month birthday…Rice cereal that I milled myself to avoid cross contamination with dairy/soy. He turned out to have an allergic reaction and we had to add rice to my elimination diet. We have to avoid all solids until we see the GI. I’m very anxious to get the bottom of this all so I can really help him. I cannot stand to see my little one in pain and vomiting all the time!
Weight Loss: -20 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight and droping
Breastfeeding: 6+ months and going strong! My original goal was 1 year, so we are halfway there! However, with all the issues with food DS is experiencing I think my new goal is to Boyfriend or Best Friend as long as I can into the second year…
