I’ve felt this a few times before but it’s been happening all day today (I’m 21 weeks). What is she doing in there? Has anyone else had this?
It’s in the middle of my belly and the vibration feels like if I had a sweatshirt and jacket on and had my cell phone vibrating on top of that, so fairly light. It lasts just for a second or two but will happen on and off for a couple minutes or two before she chills out. Before I’d feel it about once a week but I’ve probably felt it like 10 different times today already. My husband was listening to her heartbeat with the stethoscope last night when she started doing it and said it sounded like she was kicking or something. I just thought kicks were supposed to feel like jabs not vibrations.

You’ll feel all sorts of weird things before all is said and done!

I’m surprised too how much kicks and punches don’t feel like kicks and punches to me. I feel like I can hardly notice them but they are definitely there. I’m 26w4d and I thought movement would be “painful” by now, if that makes sense.

Between 18-21/22 ish weeks, I had that same feeling. I even described it to my husband as a cell phone vibrating and he still makes fun of me for it. I’m 26 weeks now and the movements are much bigger now and feel more like waves and bumps than the vibrating I felt earlier on.

Clearly she’s texting in there!
I’ve never been pregnant myself, but my when my coworker was pregnant, she said her baby would get the hiccups, especially after Mom ate. Maybe that’s what’s happening? She never described it as a cell-phone vibration, but it would happen every few seconds for a couple minutes.

Could it be that the baby/expanding uterus is simply pressing on a nerve? I’ve never had any children, but I did read through some posts for you. I found it here:
Maybe some other Mommy’s can chime in with their experiences.

Mine are moving around and the best word I can use is ‘flutter’
I tried to describe it for Darling Husband and the best description I could come up with was like a little toy windmill being blown lightly and the tips just fluttering off something in my belly. Random roundabout description but that’s what it feels like! I can see how it would feel like a really subtle cell phone vibration too! As their skeletons continue to harden I expect it will feel less subtle and more ‘jabby’

I think I know what you mean. I always pictured a boxer hitting that little tiny hanging punching bag (speed bag?) really fast. Multiple rapid jabs and then stopping abruptly.

I guess a really rapid fluttering, maybe hummingbird wing fluttering. I think it’s her actually moving, hopefully not her on the nerves or anything, it’s not painful and it sounds like she’s moving around in there when it starts. Glad to know I’m not the only one to feel something like this. She’s been giving a few jabs similar to what I thought kicks would feel like too so maybe she’s just starting to get big enough to pack a punch and not feel just like a little hummingbird or cell phone.

@808bride: I was just going to say that! We actually saw our little guy doing this at our 20 week u/s and I got to thinking that maybe that movement is the vibrations troubled is feeling! It really did look like he was punching one of those bags that the boxers use.

I heard it was the baby crying… I didn’t even know they can cry in there but thats what my step sister told me and she said it felt like a little vibration who knows =)
