I never had a shower (completely not my thing), but I’d suggest shying away from clothes since that’s what everyone bombards you with when you have a baby.  Does she have a registry? I thought everyone who had a shower did one?  Swaddling blankets always come in handy, diapers, spiffy bath items, a mother’s journal (slightly different from a baby book, it’s more about the day to day than the milestones, but I’ve seen some cute ones), or just something off a registry, of course.

@sam.stoinski:  I’m a bit confused by “the baby shower is for a co-worker of my fiance’s wife.”? Your fiance’s wife? LOL.

Anyway, I would stick with the cutesy stuff, nothing like breast pads for leaky boobies or anything really expensive that they will most likely get from close friends and family.

Clothes are always great, and not just in size newborn. Our daughter hardly wore all the newborn outfits we got; they grow out of them pretty quickly! Cute bibs are always good, you can never have too many! One thing I found recently that I liked a lot is the nursery art work on Etsy. There’s also a ton of super cute baby items on Etsy. I’d look there. Chances are if you purchase something from there as apposed to Target or another big box store, it will ensure they don’t get duplicates :]

If you know their name, I would check all the usual suspe cts for a registry and get something off their registry.

I like to gift bath tubs.  I just bought mine last weekend and love it.  It’s the summer infant to toddler tub with the infant mesh that attaches and detaches when their done. That’s a nice gift.  Then fill it with a couple of hooded bath towels and wash cloths, baby soap and shampoo and you’re done. 🙂

Also, people gift only clothes here so when I show up with a bath tub it always goes over well.
