I’m think it’s a fun and cute idea.

I’m a little confused as to why so many previous posters hopped on the serious bandwagon here, reading into everything. Just because she threw some single dollar bills and tictacs in there doesn’t mean she’s condoning her Fiance to get lap dances and make out with strippers. Maybe the singles are for giving tips at the bar. Maybe he likes to have fresh breath. It’s not like she threw lube and condoms in there, for gosh sake.

@mrs.jk: my guy uses chapstick on a regular basis? So even if I didn’t put it in, he’d probably have it on him anyways!

As for the breath mints, what if he smokes a cigar?

@kimmylyn: I think it’s the combo of the contents of the bag and the context in which it’s given–most people are going to assume that the dollar bills and breath mints are for a strip club. Yeah, he could use the $ for his subway ride home and the mints for after his venti latte at Starbucks with the guys, but the implication is that it’s for a strip club.

I think  @bells nailed it when she said her Fiance would find the gift weird and condescending. I think that’s how my guy would feel, too (not to mention shocked at my complete 180 on the subject, haha).

@mrs.jk: My Fiance uses chapstick…that was kinda uncalled for!

@HoneyBear: oh sorry! Should have clarified~ although bf and I have been monogamous thus far in our relationship, we don’t plan on staying that way.

As long as he doesn’t form an emotional attachment to someone else, I’m fine with him being intimate with other people. I am pretty much the opposite of jealous.

I know that most people will find this extremely strange and controversial, but it’s an idea that we’re comfortable with.

So, if he were to sleep with another woman at his bachelor party, the only thing I would be upset about would be not being able to watch. (I think watching would be hot for some reason.) But of the two of us, he is less promiscuous/more sexually conservative than I am, and very picky about who he is intimate with (which is why I’m the only one so far), so I’m not sure it would happen unless circumstances were right.

Wow, that got way longer than I expected! Anyways, the TL/DR version is that bf and I are more sexually open and permissive than most people.

@Miss.Lace: well first off, it was kind of supposed to be a joke! that’s the trouble with message boards.

i agree with @stillme it’s the combo of the contents of the basket which tend to imply certain things. you wouldn’t think to put something like hair gel in there, would you? so like PPs have said already, if you’re okay with the behaviors/situations it implies will occur at said party, go for it.

@debaby01: Hahahaha… I LOVE that you didn’t make this particular basket, but still sparked some big debate on the boards about dollar bills and chapstick. Hahahaha.

I agree with you that its all in fun. I hope your hunny has fabulous breath and soft lips while skiing. Careful of those snow bunnies. 😉

@stillme: The dollar bills I can see being synonymous with a strip club. I’ll hand you that. But mints?

This is why you’ve got to love Weddingbee. Most of us have been sucking on mints and slathering on the lipbalm for years now, but never until this moment paused to consider the serious implications of these acts.
