The bridal shower is for your lady relatives to buy you kitchen supplies and housewares, and for your kooky aunt to buy you ridiculous, embarrassing lingerie.  The bachelorette party is to cut loose with your friends!!!

I agree, both! I had a lovely bridal shower and the a low key bachlorette party at the beach 🙂 It was awesome!

I’m having both, but I didn’t want the shower!  My girlfriends really wanted to do it, so we did, but it was small and laid back.  The games were fun (I begged them not to play bingo, which I hate!), and the prizes were really nice handmade soaps from a local business that I love.  They made all the food and cookies too, it was nice.

The bachelorette, which will be the weekend before the wedding, is definitely more what Ex Libris said… a party!!

I’m having both and I’m excited for both! My Maid/Matron of Honor is co-hosting my shower with my mom. My Maid/Matron of Honor is also setting up my bachelorette party but hopefully the two other BMs will help out with both. <3 them all!

I had both.  All the aunties and grandma’s came to the shower, and we had a nice polite afternoon tea party and I opened presents.  The bachelorette party was just with my friends, and a little less G-rated.

I’ll probably just be having a small bachelorette party and no bridal shower, which is what I want. I guess I didn’t realize it was not the norm. lol
