I’m the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding and we have her Bachelorette this weekend in Kittery ME. One of the other maids, a mutual friend of ours, said she had connections and would plan the bachelorette party (which is why it’s in Kittery).Which sounded great. She planned out a nice trip, with lots of fun activities, we paid her, and thought everything was finalized. I contacted her the other day, just to make sure there wasn’t anything extra we owed with the activites (ie. tip, taxes) and she told me that all those activites had been sold out MONTHS ago and that she in fact had nothing planned! She has now proceeded go go MIA to any of my contacting her. So me and another maid are fractially looking for things to do in the Portsmouth New Husband, Kittery ME area for THIS Friday Night. We have dinner at our hotel planned and an old fashioned sleep over planned, but nothing inbewteen. Plus we have the Bride’s sister who is only 20. I have contacted the hotel for ideas, but everything is either over 21, sold out, or not available till summer. Does anyone have any idea on what to do? We’re really despreate. Thank You!!

MOHchick: wow – I have no suggestions unfortunately, but hopefully you guys can work something out!

MOHchick: Portsmouth is so much fun…there are tons of bars, if you guys like that kind of stuff! Surf has GREAT cocktails, if you want something more upscale. And the Portsmouth Brewery has great beer. The Green Lantern (I think that’s what it’s called) is a fun, low-key place that can get pretty rowdy. I don’t know of much to do in Kittery besides shop (lots of outlets there). Your friend’s bridesmaid sucks – good luck!

Ugh that sucks that she dropped the ball.
My favorite girl’s night thing to do when we’ve got under 21’s with us is to go to restaurants with amazing bar menus. They’ll be allowed in (because it’s not a straight up bar) but you can still get awesome cocktails and snacks. Just hop around a few of those along with some kind of activity. Was there anything the bride specifically said she’d like or not like?

MOHchick: I had to throw a bachlorette party with people who were under 21 so I threw an adult toy party. We threw on fun pajamas, had the consultant come to the hotel and had a few drinks for the people who were of age. It was a blast and I still get complimented on how much fun everyone had. Maybe try something like that?

I highly recommend Robert’s for dinner in Kittery! Very yummy food. Also for the 21+ crowd I like the Thirsty Moose for beers in Portsmith New Husband.

What a nightmare, the outlets in Kittery would be a fun way to kill several hours, there are also a number of vineyards/breweries in the area which do tours: Redhook, Flag Hill, Jewell Towne etc.

Wow that sucks!!!
I would plan a lingerie or sex party. even if its out of comfort zone, its always a hit! You could continue the night with games and activities. Do a scavenger hunt, and the end clue could lead you to a destination, go dancing!
