It sounds like an insane amount of money.

skatergirl :  lot of people on this site seem to hate days long bachelorette parties and love to let others know about it any chance they get lol.

every bachelorette party I’ve been to has been out of town, but like you my girlfriends and I take a lot of trips so it seems normal to make a trip out of a bachelorette party as well since we don’t all get together as often as we’d like. We just probably do it on a smaller scale. My husband and his friends all do this as well for bachelor parties, I don’t think it’s as unheard of as it seems based on the responses you get here

if you guys normally take “big” trips then the $1200 for Mexico seems like a good deal, but again you just need to see what everyone’s budget it and how many days they’re able to travel.

id reach out to your friends and see if they’re leaning more towards the mountain trip, Mexico trip or if anyone has any other suggestions

skatergirl :  I’ve never been a Bridesmaid, so there’s that. I know you live in NYC but if your friends dont, do you think they would be interested in checking it out?

skatergirl :  I really hope my original response didn’t  come off too harsh. If you and your ladies are into trips, more power to you. I dont have female friends, so I personally wouldn’t spend more than $200 on this stuff. Hopefully some day I’ll travel and have girl friends.

What about looking up something different? Have you been to DC? I live here and it’s a cool city. Do you want the typical spa day thing or something more active?

Lol I asked my boyfriend since he’s traveled for bachelor parties and he brought up the airfare and hotel. He also said “I mean….it sounds like they’re fucking balling.” Lol *cue $1,000 bachelor party* So if your girls can genuinely afford it and place importance on travel, then yeah, go for it.

skatergirl :  Yeah if you’re going to spend money on something, make it the experience and not overpriced drinks. I’m not into clubs personally.

If you’re coming from the angle that experiences > things, you don’t see your friends that often, and it’s once in a lifetime plus things will change if you have kids, then it’s worth it from that perspective.

Hey Op, have you ever travelled to vegas or arizona? You could travel there for your bach party. These locations might have what you’re looking for.

Also any recommendations for my up coming 30th bday I will be spending in nyc ๐Ÿ˜‚ any good night clubs or lounges (for a weeknight) , fun/unique food places, a romantic dinner?

I would not spend $1200 for many bachelorettes if I’m honest.  I would do an abroad city break for any of my bridesmaids and another circle of close friends, in general these weekends run at around £500 at the most including flights, hotel and spending.

I love visiting new cities with friends anyway so a close friend’s hen is just another excuse and it is the same for most of my friends.  9 girls flew to Lisbon for my hen and I was so appreciative, all the girls were messaging me for days after telling me they had the best time.

Are you suggesting a $1200 pp bachelorette for yourself?

How about a 3 or 4 day cruise? A couple girlfriends and I went on a 4 day out of Galveston on Carnival and it only cost about $300 each plus airfare and drinks.

If your group is used to dropping that kind of money then go for it. I would, however, look into other resorts because 1200 pp to Mexico sounds high. My husband and I stayed 4 nights at an all inclusive for 1600 total including flights. I think the suggestion of a cruise is also a good idea and might get you more bang for your buck.
