I haven’t been, but I’ll try to give my opinion anyway.  I wouldn’t go to a strip club for the same reason I wouldn’t want my SO to go to a strip club, I just don’t feel like that’s an appropriate way to celebrate the start of a marriage.  I have no problem with anyone who is ok with it, but it’s just not for us!

I went to Thunder From Down Under in Vegas. I loved it! It was hilarious, and the guys were hot. However, it was more of a show then a strip club. If any of them came close to me, I would have been really grossed out. They probably look a lot better on stage then in your face. I have also once been to a house party in college where a male stripper showed up. It was weird and gross and all the girls ran away from him. I kinda felt bad for the guy.

@magilnyc: Haha we went to Chippendale’s in Vegas! You’re right… it’s more of a show then a strip club, although some ladies did get pulled up on stage to get lap dances. It was SOOOO much fun and I would deff do it again.

I do think that it’s a different experience from a regular strip club though…. I’ve been to strip clubs before and I think for guys, it’s more of a sexual thing. Either way, I don’t have a problem with strip clubs.

Mm. Haven’t been and I don’t think I’d go to one. I’m a bigger fan of the female form in motion than male.

I went to one once.  Well, it wasn’t a male strip club, it was a regular bar that had a “male revue” come in for a night.  The night was billed as “Ladies’ Night.” I had no idea that meant male strippers would be there.  I was expecting half-price drinks.

My husband has been to a strip club…but that was a long time before we started dating.  If he enjoyed it as much as I did, I understand why he never went back.  These guys were just nasty.  They weren’t unattractive; they were just creepy.  They were all oiled and greasy and they definitely didn’t have a no touch rule.  They came up to us and rubbed against us, touched us, and were WAY too in your face for my liking.  Had I driven myself, I’d have just left.  I finally offered one $10 to not touch or bother me and to make sure the others didn’t ether.  He apologized and I was left alone after that.

However, I was one of the few that reacted that way.  Most of the women LOVED the attention.  In fact, it seemed like the older ladies seemed to be far more into it than the younger ones.  They were whooping and squealing, waving money in the air, running their hands all over the guys, squeezing their butts…OMG.  I was embarrassed for them.

EDIT:  I don’t know that I think that was all that similar to a female strip club.  From what I understand, at female strip clubs, there is a stage and the show takes place on stage.  Here there was no stage, just a dance floor and tables.  The guys danced on the dance floor then went out and about in the crowd.

I haven’t been to one either. I may have gone before I experienced the whole “my man at strip club, 6 lap dances, whipped on stage,  bruises on his ass.” But after that, strip clubs sort of put a sour taste in my mouth. And like the OP I am not saying everyone should feel or act a certain way, just for me I wouldn’t be able to go after all the drama I’m currently going through b/c of a strip club.

I personally have never been, but I would be game! Like you said, they are for comic relief 🙂

To answer your specific question: “Do you think a male strip club/show is very different from one that guys would go to?” My answer is no, I think the “bachelor/bachelorette stage shows are very similar, in that it is an opportunity for the bride and groom to be embarrassed and put on the spot in front of their friends, its more for our friends amusement then our own In My Humble Opinion 🙂

I have been to one….. I would not go back. I dunno, guys swinging their junk in my face is not really appealing.

@zippylef: I’m with you! I’ve been to my fair share where there were male dancers, and I was to a male review show at an actual guy strip club, and it was just comical. The bride got into it in one, and I just found it really disgusting. I stayed far away from the guys and just laughed my head off…it’s slightly embarrasing for the girls who are victimized!

I went to one while in college. I too found it more funny than sexual. We got our friend a lap dance and we couldn’t stop laughing. My friend was super embarrassed.

This is partly why I don’t have a problem with my Fiance going to strip clubs. I agree with @AnnieAAA, it’s about the embarrassment. Last time Fiance went (the only time he’s gone while we’ve been together), he got pulled on stage and had his shirt pulled off. He said it was mortifying.

I know most female strippers (not all) are completely nude. I don’t think I have ever known a male stripper allowed to get naked.  – – Correct me if I am wrong.

My Fiance loves to drop his pants and shake his package in my face because it makes me laugh hysterically.  If I were to attend a male review…I am pretty sure I would have the same or worse reaction. I would probably make the poor guy feel bad because I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face. I am 100% sure I wouldn’t go to one though, I just don’t see any appeal to it.

My girls and I love going to Hollywood Men down at the Highlands in Hollywood!  It is soooooooo much fun I LOVE it!  I remember the 1st time I ever went I was very hesitant as I didn’t think watching a bunch of half naked men jirading in front of me would be appealing but boy was I wrong!!  We went there for my Bachelorette party but I have been there before and I will continue going…..  My best friend was just talking about pretending to be getting married so she can get the “special treatment”!  My favorite dancer is Gustavo which also happens to be the name of my Darling Husband so when my Darling Husband makes me mad…I tell him he better stop or I will have to go to my other Gustavo to cheer me up! lol….  Here is a pic of me and Gustavo #2! lol….

I don’t think women are stimulated visually the same way men are…..it does nothing for me to wach some buff guy in a banana hammock toss his slong around…except it does make me laugh hysterically.
