@dewingedpixie:  What a great idea! I’ve always wanted to go to one of those shows.

Maybe something during the day like a British afternoon tea?

Possible night:

Friday night:

Sleepover theme.  Make some fun cocktails and some appetizers.  Line up some fun marriage related movies for the night and board games.  Get face masks, nail stuff, and any other spa treatment your girls can.  Have a “sleepover” party!

Saturday:

Go out for brunch together and treat yourself to some champagne.

Follow this with a “Saturday day-time activity.”  This can be a beach day (have a rainy day back up), a spa day, a cooking class, a burleqsue class, etc.  After the activity, go out with the girls to the grocery store and pick up assorted foods you don’t have to prepare (fruit, bread, cheese, cookies, vegetables, hummus).  Have a picnic dinner at the vineyard (move inside if it’s poor weather).

Head back to a house or hotel room, and everyone can get ready.  Then go out and see a show: a play, a dance, a show, a concert, whatever is around that night.

This is a fun combo without being expensive!

My Fiance and I had fairly non-traditional parties. He’s a drinker but I’m not, and there was no way in hell either one of us woudl have strippers.

He and his friend did a 15miles (each way) bikie ride to a brewery in a small town near us, had pizza, then rode back, showered/napped, then had a steak dinner then did barhopping. They were so tired out from the ride that barhopping only lasted until 1am

My friends took me to our college town and had me reenact various college shenanigans. Every time I completed a task I would get a prize – a bachelorette sash, a veil, etc. Then we went to dinner and went bowling in old bridesmaid dresses. It was awesome.

Other ideas:

Hike followed by spa treatments (or just one of them would be a great day for me)

Dessert crawl instead of pub crawl

some sort of scavenger hunt

sleepover party like you used to have in middle school, you know, with Girl Talk, Truth or Dare, etc.

Wine tasting or cheese making party

sushi making party

There are so many awesome non-drinking ideas out there!

Maybe something active or outdoorsy like paint balling, laser tag, a hike, indoor trampoline place.

There’s a place in my city where you can eat at a restaurant and paint a canvas at the same time. They serve little appies and you spend the night playing artist. Pretty neat but I know that’s a fairly localized idea.

As mentioned above, there’s always the spa idea. Maybe just some fun games and chatting at someone’s place? A wine and cheese night? A formal dinner?

For my bachelorette, we are doing a painting class. Wanted to share the idea because I am really excited about it. The class is Bring Your Own Beer and Wine and also food. We booked a private room and are each painting a portrait on a canvas with an instructor! And we get to drink wine and snack while painting. Seems most cities have these painting & wine classes around and everytime I google it, everyones paintings look amazing! So I am wondering how they do it. The place we are going has over 3,000 photos to chose from. After we are then going to go dance at a bar nearby, I dont want to get hammered either, but do love to dance! Good luck in finding something!

I’m planning my sister’s bach party and we will probably go sailing in the bay during the day, get dolled up for dinner, and maybe go dancing after.  I planned a bach party for my friend and we had a Bridesmaid or Best Man who was under 21 so we went to dinner together and then all took a swing dancing class- it was so fun!  Then we went to cabin (owned by a BM’s parents) and did a slumber party, games, gifts.

These are all great ideas…clubbing and strippers are such the norm for bacherlorette parties that I kinda want to do something different as well.

I like the mini vacation idea.  I saw a cool photoshoot of a group of girls who bought hideous value village dresses, and went paintballing with a photographer.  Not for me, but it was a cool, original idea.

If I had a bachelorette party (I didn’t), I would have wanted something fun.  Bowling, paintball, something like that.  Maybe nice dinner and cocktails/mocktails (I had an underage bridesmaid, too) or BYOB and a night in with board games, like Cards Against Humanity or something.  But since my bridal party consisted of my sister and best guy friend, it didn’t really happen.

I would love to do a spa during the day, a nice dinner out and then maybe some poker to end the night! 🙂

We did dinner at a fondue restaurant, so it was dinner plus an activity. Everyone had a lot of fun and we got to hang out and chat and eat for a couple of hours. Then we went to a bar where there was live music, so you could drink if you wanted but didn’t have to. I had a great time!
