- Wedding: September 2012
After lunch we walked back to the hotel and checked in. We were on the 26th floor and our room was equipped with 2 rooms, a modern bathroom and even a kitchen.
It was time to get ready for our night out…. We were headed to a Broadway show…
ROCK OF AGES!!!
My bridesmaid had brought along an array of 80’s “stuff” to add to our wardrobe. Beads, hair extensions, jelly bracelets, pink gloves!!!
After a refreshing shower and wardrobe change we were ready to go!
Although the Helen Hayes theatre was within walking distance we hopped a taxi to get there. Once there we waited in line
Waiting in line provides a great picture opp! LOL above me with Fiance mother and Fiance sister (who lives in NYC)
The Helen Hayes Theatre is small and intimate. I had read mixed reviews about the show but with the list of songs I couldn’t imagine it not being good!! We love the 80’s! We were NOTdisappointed! The show was amazing. It is now one of my top 3 favorites of all time. It was loud, really loud, it was crass and definitely not for kids. But for my group it was perfect! Sister christain, we built this city, heaven, waiting for a girl like you, harden my heart, hit me with your best shot, don’t stop believin…. come on!! It was awesome!
After the show we headed to Serendipity III (yeah from the movie) but it was a very disappointing trip. They were rude and the wait was over an hour and half…sooo no John Cusack for us, not even any dessert 🙁 However, we headed back and snacked on our goodie bags which were full of chocolate!!
Sunday morning we slept in and then leisurely got up and ready for brunch. We headed to East of 8th. Again this was within walking distance and the weather was just perfect!
Another place that had great service. We were seated out in the garden area which was very nice, cute and comfortable.
They had balloons on our table since Maid/Matron of Honor noted we were a bachelorette party in the reservation. These places sure know how to make you feel special…
Our meals were all great. Two had omelette’s, one had a monte cristo and I had eggs benedict! YUM
After brunch we went back to the hotel, packed up and checked out. Back to the megabus and back to MD.
It was a great weekend. Good food, good friends, great show and great times!!!
