My bachelorette and personal shower are combined. I didn’t want to do 2 seperate events, people already have enough things to attend, you don’t need three seperate events

I did an early “bachelorette” weekend with all of my college friends a couple weeks ago because we all live in different states and it was the best time for us to all get together before the wedding. My Maid/Matron of Honor had everyone buy me lingerie (all very tasteful!) and then they wrapped them and I had to open them then guess who bought me which gift. It was fun and nice to get some stuff to wear on our honeymoon!

I guess I don’t know what a personal shower is, but I would be horrified if other people bought me lingerie. Ick!

@vorpalette:  Ick? These were all from my closest friends and sisters. I’ve actually never been to a bachelorette party where the bride DIDN’T get lingerie gifts and I don’t think it’s icky at all. I wasn’t going to go out and buy myself all that cute “Pretty Little Bride” stuff from Victoria’s Secret, but it was fun that my friends did!

@ejay15:  Yep, ick. I don’t want anyone buying me underwear or sexy anything. Ever. My fiance and I are the only two people allowed to do that, and I doubt that he ever would anyway.

I’ve never heard of a personal shower! I would either just have a bachelorette party or a combined thing, though.
