kcoast:  I’m with you. Normally I don’t mind being the DD, but if she is hosting, it’s up to her to make arrangements for drivers ahead of time.

kcoast:  I feel like you handled it well just try to understand the amount that of stress the Maid/Matron of Honor must be under and don’t take her snippy attitude personally!

It’s not that it “didn’t occur to her,” it’s that she doesn’t want to.

I think it’s really weird that she assumed u were going to drive! What the hell? u did the right thing, IMO. She should be dealing with all that, not u..

kcoast:  She didn’t want to drive but was too chicken shit to ask people ahead of time to do it for her. You were right to decline. It’s the hostess, with the help of the other bridesmaids, who should be doing those sorts of things or she should have sprung for a limo or something.

I don’t think it’s necessarily wrong of her to ask you to drive, but the moment you said no, she should have said, “Okay, no problem, we’ll make other arrangements.”  This night is, after all, about your mutual friend.  But assuming and/or guilt-tripping you are both inappropiate ways to get what she wants.

You were right to stand your ground, and I’d be annoyed just like you are if someone treated me like this.

I think you handled that really well, but why did she leave that important piece to the day of? Shouldn’t that have been figured out long before now?? Anyways Hope you and the bride have a great time!!

Tbh she sounds like a bitch, and maybe you aren’t as good of a friend to her as she is to you?? It sounds like she singled you out to be the driver; like you’re the low man on the totem pole. Idk that could be way off base.

You did really well!! What a perfect response you had. Hope you had a good time 🙂 I bet you’re glad you’re not a bridesmaid with her 🙂

That is pretty rude if you ask me. She wanted to drink and have a good time and dump the driving on you. Sorry, not your job. How did everything go since I see you posted this a few days ago.

Wow! It does not sound well planned or thought out at all!

You’ve made me curious! What happened at the wedding?
