I just had mine 2 weeks ago.  We rented a house in Charlottesville, VA (about a 4 hour drive for us).  Since 2 of my bridesmaids are pregnant (one never drinks anyway) we had 2 options for a Dear Daughter.  We spent the day visiting vineyards and brew pubs about a half hour from where we were staying.  The weather was in the upper 60s so it was beautiful just to sit outside and relax and enjoy the views and lovely food.  We spent the evenings at the house eating, watching movies, and catching up.  It was perfect.  We all want to plan another one just as a girls weekend.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t want the 20’s bacholorette party bonanza!  Two out of my three bridesmaids don’t drink, so I think we’re either going to do a spa day, or go to a pottery/art place and make some art, and go out for a nice dinner.  I threatened my Maid/Matron of Honor with her life if there were any penis-related items or strippers at my bachlorette, lol.

I’ve toned down my party days significantly, and we did a cottage weekend for my bachelorette. But I have to admit that once the hot pink and penis items started making appearances I was hooked! Why not? PS I’m 35

I’m 31, and for my bachelorette we did a weekend at a cabin.  It was me and like 10 of my closest girlfriends.  It was wonderful!  There were some penis accessories, but nothing major.  Instead it was like a high school sleepover, which was exactly what I wanted.

Call me boring but I really want to hang out with my college friends doing what we used to do – sleep over!! lol We weren’t bar hoppers in college. When we were studying or at choir practice, we were in someone’s dorm room in our PJs watching TV or movies and chatting. That’s all I really want to do.

I like the idea of renting a cabin or house! Fun!

I told my MoH no penises, no strippers, nothing trashy.  I do want the tiara, veil and sash….that will be fun!  I’m thinking we will do dinner, a comedy club and the maybe dancing/drinks downtown if everyone is up for it.  I really want to rent a limo but the expense is putting me off…..oh well.

my Fiance has a great bachelor party plan – golf outing, cigars, scotch and just hanging out with his family and close friends!

@tibbets:  I’m a little late to the game, but am having the same battle with my ladies.  You sound like my kind of gal–want to plan my bach party instead?  I told them all separately that we’re in our 30s and I dont want any props, veils, outfits, etc.  Two of the girls got married in their 20s and the other still thinks she’s in her 20s, so it’s been an uphill battle.  Sigh…..

And aritisan crafted deliciousness of a microbrew sounds fantastic right about now 🙂

I turn 35 five weeks after my wedding. I’ve never been married before and I’m really looking forward to my bachelorette. No strip clubs and I’ve asked for no penises in public (but I’ll humour my friends and wear them in private if they want) but it’s been a tough year for us (being unemployed and planning a wedding is way stressful, thank goodness for generous parents) and I have the most fun group of friends ever…I’m looking forward to cutting loose.

I wish I knew what we were doing but I’ve been kept completely in the dark. I know when it is and was told what to wear but that’s about it. 3 more weeks to go!!

I think we’re going to dinner and Cirque Du Soleil.

I’m doing my final Hoorah trip on my own too since I’ve never traveled without a group or to someone. I’m going to DL to run the Tinkerbell marathon in January, so that I can get a coast to coast medal on my halfmarathon run in disney world the day before my wedding.

Dunno I’m not a drinker I just feel this is all around a lot classier.

I’ll be 31 just 11 days after the wedding. My friends range from 27 to my age, then throw in my then-19 y/o sis, my mom and FMIL(both about 47), and friends/friends wives.

I have banned anything embarassing or demeaning. but thankfully, my girls know me. They did decide a toy party would be fun, so I’m cooking them all dinner at my house(just the Bridal Party and moms-yeah, they’re open minded like that LOL, and a couple friends), then we’ll have the “shower” of sorts, then head to the club to meet up with FH and the rest of the guys!!!

I just had my bachelorette party on the weekend and it was High tea, so the mum’s could come. Followed by dinner and dancing. I told my BM’s there was no way I was keen for one, unless it was a weekend away with the girls! It was fabulous, all my besties together having fun. I definitely didnt want penis’s or dares or anything childish like that. Having said that there were a few penis straws floating about… 🙂

I 100% agree about doing all that nonsense for my bachlorette. I’m not 22. I don’t drink that much anymore and I don’t want pink or plastic penises anywhere near me!

We’re doing a custom t-shirt screen printing party (yes you read that right! Found it on living social) then going out for a few drinks!

We are having a ‘couple’s shower” instead of bachelor/bachelorette parties. People are going to show up for appetizers and wine. Maybe bring some presents.

Any penises at the party better remain /inside their own clothing.

I decided on a mini-week at the beach (about a 3 hour drive away) with my closest female and male friends with no significant others.  We found a townhouse to rent so it will be a nice weekend to cook, have a few drinks, and talk about when we were younger and crazier.
