@bridalprincess:  Well my bachelorette was all kinds of fun.  We went to a club and I had the best time.  It was me and a bout 10 or so girls.  They planned it all so all I had to do was show up.  Afterwards some of us met up with dh and his guys at another club and partied some more.

There was entertatinment at my party with a local boy band and I was actually a part of that AND i got cake.  So much fun.

I don’t want any of those penis/bar hopping type bachelorette parties either. My 9 year old niece is the only one standing up at the alter with me and my fiance is having a best man that lives 21 hours away, so we dont have a traditional bridal party.  I have a feeling that a few of my friends may want to try to organize something.  If that ends up being the case, i’ll probably suggest we all go to dinner somewhere in Chinatown in Philly (my fav) or go to a Korean Spa for a body scrub and a massage.  We get a free round of a golf with our wedding package, so my fiance and a few friends will use that for his “bachelor party” we aren’t wild and crazy at all, so if we DO have any kind of parties, they will be very low key.

Mine’s over a year away, but we kinda needed to start planning early since my gfs are all spread out and all have to travel for the wedding too.  I thought maybe we’d do it in the bay area, closer to our wedding venue since the bach party will be a few days before it.  But my bridal party quickly vetoed that idea and said we’d do vegas.  That really works for me- laying out by the pool with a smoothie & eating good food sounds great- basically a mini-beach vacay but with better shopping.  We’ll probably go out to dinner and maybe go dancing one night, but my girls know that no strippers or pretend versions of their parts will be part of the festivities. Wink

I have to take it easy because mine is the night before my wedding, after the rehearsal dinner. Its coed because we couldnt really be exclusive with a Destination Wedding. We have friends of both genders and we’ve invited couples so we felt like separating folks wouldn’t be too polite. We’re going to a fish fry on the beach  (food stalls, craft vendors, pop-up bars, etc) with loud calypso music and the best grilled fish in history. We’re giving out flasks as our favor and getting blingy pimped-out ones for ourselves. In case of rain, we’ll just do a normal pub crawl.

We just had my bachelorette party in VEGAS! It was pretty far away/pricey for the girls from the East Coast but they are the ones who suggested it and they used it as an excuse for a mini-vacation. Some good girlfriends flew from Vancouver to join us as well.

Ready for Vegas – my nails on the plane:)

Here is me and one of my crazy maids meetnig at the airport!

We stayed at the Cosmopolitan for 3 nights and it was so fun:)

View from our Terrace Suite – gorgeous, super spacious room with 2 bathrooms and a balcony on the top floors, it was actually bigger than my apartment in Vancouver! View from our room:

I had to tell a few of them NO PENISES, NO STRIPPERS and I know there was some disappointment. Like a few of you have said, I am 30 now and I went through all that drunken fun in my 20’s and I have no need for it anymore, I just wanted to have a classy time with my best girls. I didn’t wear a sash/tiara or anything cause it wasn’t me – I did wear a fun white dress on the Saturday official bachelorette night though. My Maid/Matron of Honor said she tried to find me a cute birdcage to wear that night but had no luck – oh well! There were SOOO many bachelorette parties there that weekend – a lot of them decked out in full penis and pink sash glory! I actually thought one bridal party was super cute, they were all dressed in sexy black dresses with blue wigs, and the bride in white with a veil – I maybe would have done that but I just didn’t want to look too tacky with penises everywhere (to each their own!)

The first night we dressed up and went to a little Mexican place called La Comida which had just opened in old Vegas – it was actually the best resturant we went to all weekend! Service was awesome, food was great, we did shots – good times:) We went to the Marquee bar after at our hotel for some drinks by the pool but most of the girls went to bed fairly early because of the time difference and their long flights.

My amazing bridal party: My Maid/Matron of Honor and little sister, my bff from calgary, me in the middle, my bff from NS, and my awesome brunette 7 months preggers BFF who came out and still had an amazing time with us – doesn’t she look amazing?!

The second day we had an amazing brunch at the Wicked Spoon, with unlimited Mimosas, where they served BONE MARROW at the buffet?! ha I tried some on bread – nothing to write home about….

then hit up a pool party at Boulevard – it was pretty wild and fun partying in our bikinis:)

another of my crazy dancing maids and me in my fringe bikini:)

The girls surprised me with some underwear game where each of them had bought a pair of underwear for me and I had to guess who had bought which one based on the style – it was fun while we drank some champagne in the room:)

Then out to our “fancy” italian bachelorette dinner D.O.C.G. – a little cheaper than some other places but was supposed to have amazing food based on reviews. Food was great but service was TERRIBLE and I would never go back FYI. NEVER!

I LOVED my little white bachelorette dress from BCBG! I will definately be wearing it for the rehearsal dinner too:) Not sure why my 2 other friends from Vancouver wore white too when they were supposed to wear colors – divas haha.

Then we went to Club XS at the Wynn in a limo, and partied till LATE with some guys we knew who were on a bachelor party and had bottle service – super fun until I got a little tipsy and left my phone in the washroom and it was stolen:( oh well! I am just sad I don’t have all the pictures from the phone I took from that night, as I was the one taking most of them, and the night was so fun!

Drinks in the limo:

Sunday we walked the strip a bit, played some slot machines, did a bit of shopping and went to the chill Bamboo pool after. We ate at PF Changs and then went to XBurlesque to satisfy some of the girls who needed strippers on the trip – the dancers were super athletic and had some amazing moves but for sure more of a rocking strip show than any type of traditional burlesque! My sister, who is pretty conservative, was a little disgusted by it all I found out after – but she held her tongue, and I for one had a good time!

Everyone was feeling so tired from drinking and being in the sun all weekend that we went to bed at midnight the last night after the show to catch our flights the next day:) It was a really great weekend and I was so happy all my bridesmaids were able to make it, since I live so far away from them and never get to see them:) Now I can’t wait to party with everyone at the wedding!!!:)

I’ll be 35 when it comes time for my bachelorette party in August, and like most here I banned all things peni, strippers, and tacky sashes/tiaras. SO not my scene. I told my co-matrons that I wanted a nice dinner out in Portsmouth, followed by some fun at a nearby bar or two. In other words, the right amount of hedonism that 35-year-olds could get away with. 😉

I will be 33 by the time we get married.  I will not be having a bachelorette party.  I’ve never been into bar hopping or clubs, which is the traditional bachelorette party where I live.  We prob could go away for a weekend somewhere, but a majority of my bridal party is married with kids.  I would feel terrible asking people to spend more money than they are already spending for being in the wedding when they could use that money for their families.  Also, everyone says “come on you have to have one.  One last night out as a single lady.”  Yeah…I don’t buy that.   To me, my last night out as a single lady was the day before I started dating my fiance.  I know some people will be disappointed, but hey this is about me, not them haha!   If we do anything, it might just be a night away to the Hershey Hotel, which is only about an hour or so from my house.  If we go there, we will do a spa day in the chocolate spa then dinner and drinks 🙂

I requested no bach party and no shower.  I didn’t want any pre-wedding events.  The wedding was MORE than enough.  We compromised on a coed un-shower with no gits.  It was really just a large dinner party involving sushi.

Yeah, I doubt I’ll be having one. My sister is the only member of my bridal party and she has a baby. Plus I just feel too old to have one (no offense to anyone is meant at all, I just happen to feel really old with this wedding business.)

My bachelorette was last weekend…we went for dinner then went to a ping pong bar!  It was fun 😀

I had a bachelorette sash on, but also had my bridesmaids wearing sashes….so I didn’t totally stand out….

I’ll be 29 at mine but I feel the same way you do. No nightclubs, no penis stuff, no veil, no scavenger hunts, etc. I think we are just going to do a nice dinner and then some kind of wine tasting.

@NAvery:  I went to a drag show for a bachelorette party once and it was a lot of fun. Mostly mild, but one of the queens did drag the bride to be up on stage for some hazing. All in good fun, especially her doing some “dirty dancing” with all the cute gay boys there.

I’m totally having a bachelorette party. With two rules: 1) No Penises. None. 2) No male strippers. Having some random dudes sweaty ball sack swing in my face is not my idea of a good time. I’ve already floated the idea of a limo winery tour. That is much more my pace and style.

I was born and raised in Miami, Fl very popular party destination but moved away 2 years ago to a very small quiet location 2 hrs north of Miami. I love the quiet peacefulness I live in since I am now 29 with children and run my own business. That being said, I will definitely be going back to my hometown for my bach party.Still not sure if we well be doing a day cruise or just hitting up the club’s. But it will def be a Full blown night full of penises (in good taste/not walking around wearing it), drinking, and partying! My whole party will be wearing white and I will wear the whole veil and sash to go with it. I can’t wait! This is my first time getting married and always imagined it that way. Plus my girlfriends wouldn’t have it any other way!
