I had a great flower consult today and wanted to share some info in case this helps any other brides! For the reception- I plan on alternating submerged flowers and the more traditional centerpieces. For the traditional ones, we are going with hydrangeas, stargazer lillies and other white flowers. Kinda like this but a little bigger and more hydrangeas.

Oops, I hit submit before I was done.
For submerged flowers, we are going to try out the stargazer lily, gladiolis and calla lily to see what works best. Using orchids would blow the budget.
What I am so excited about is the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets! I wanted hydrangeas but the florist talked me into going slightly different. She showed me football mums, which kinda look like peonies to me… which is easier on the budget as well. Normally, not a mum fan, but these are so cute and I think equal in price to hydrangeas. They are the white flowers in the pic.
Thought I would pass along some info!

Is that what they’re called, they’re a nice shape. I’m meeting two florists at the end of the month. Have you met with more than one and if so was there much of a price difference?

@CatyLady: I met with another florist earlier that day before I met with the one who gave me the idea of football mums. I haven’t gotten an estimate from the first one though. For the reception centerpieces, they will look a little fuller and some other flowers in there as well and I think they will be $55 a piece. I might go see another florist for another price estimate though.
@RosieBee: Aren’t they awesome?! She had pics of them in a bouquet and my mom and I were immediately drawn to them. I also love hydrangeas but I was worried that they would wilt in the bouquets by the end of the night. So football mums in the bouquets and hydrangeas in the centerpieces. I will get the mums in white but not sure if they come in other colors.
