Oh no!! Sweetie! 🙁  Seriously, it doesn’t matter how stellar you look in any dress, if you don’t love it, then it is no go!  Big hugs to you and chin up, it will be okay! Do you have any new dresses you’d like to try?

I think you should get the dress YOU love the most. Not your mother, not anyone else, only you.

Awww!  Definitely go with what you love.  What about the other (non-ruffled) one– with kind of diagonal ruching and some sparkle??  That was beautiful on you!

Awww that’s a shame 🙁 You should show your bridal jewelry because maybe we can help you choose a dress that would complement it?

I know this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but go the next time without your mother!  Perhaps you could choose two or more to show her later.

I second going shopping without your mom, at least once. Then once you find the dress bring her and show her and tell her this is your dress.

@HisNightOwl2014:  For one thing, don’t introduce confusion into your decision making. Go dress shopping alone. Get your bearings with dresses while on your own, bring mom in later.

If you take her along it’s only reasonable that she will offer an opinion.

I loved dress shopping I tried on as many as it took to find the one!! Maybe take a break and think about how you want to look and feel on your wedding day. You have time so take it. One of my friends did not want to go through the drama of other peoples opinions so she went shopping alone, like pp have suggested. She chose 3-5 dresses that she loved and then brought in her family members for opinions, this way she was guaranteed to have the dress she wanted
