Daughter is having a black/white with a pop of dark red wedding. The only red we have in it so far is the centerpieces are red roses, the center of the tables are lined w/ red rose petals, and the cake is decorated with some red roses. The table cloths are white w/ black runners with black napkins/chairs, china is white, and the paper lanterns above the tables are black and white. We’re getting a backdrop to divide the room from a kitchen area and I thought white at first but then I was thinking what about red? The backdrop for the bride/groom table will be red. There’s a point you get to that the decorations are just “too much”/”over done” and I want to avoid that. In your opinion would you go with the red or white backdrop? Thanks

how big would the divider be? if it is going to be large, i would suggest going with white so there’s not a huge red wall through the venue – however, if it is smaller, a pop of red may be a nice touch, especially if it matches the red that will be behind the bride/groom table

It’s hard to envision what you need, but what if you were to rent a deep red theater curtain?

The total width will be 38 feet, but there will be the center opening for a “door” for guests to get from the actual reception area to the bathrooms/outside. There will be a 12 foot food table on one side and a 8 foot beverage table on the other side (linens for both will also be black/white) I just thought the room needed more of the red “pop” but I fear it’s going to look “tacky” with a red divider.
