I would keep looking, i feel bad saying this but it reminds me of a toga 🙁

I think you can find something more flattering in the same price range!

I like the style of the dress, but am not sold on the large ruffle. I tried on a dres like that, and it was very awkward for me, personally. If you can try it on, and decide you like it, though, I would go for it! What a steal 🙂

I think this would work for a beach wedding, but might feel a little heavy for casual BBQ – guess it depends on the type of fabric! Do you have a David’s Bridal near you?? there are a couple of great dresses there for pretty cheap on their DB line!  Also, Galina has a few great Tea Length gowns, that if you decided to stray from long length, I think are gorgeous. Im having a backyard wedding also and am thinking of a dress similar to this one:

I don’t care for the shoulder ruffle, esp. at a BBQ, but can you return that dress? Maybe you could order it to try on – it might look better in person, and $90 is an AMAZING deal.

Ann Taylor and J. Crew both have long dresses that are cut close to the body and more casual, although they aren’t nearly as inexpensive ($300 or more). J. Crew has a lot of floaty chiffon ones that resemble this dress. Some of Ann Taylor’s have a similar one-shoulder silhouette, and I hear they have lots of sales.

I love that dress, but if you aren’t sold on it, keep looking. You have some time as long as you aren’t ordering from a true bridal company

i LOVE the ruffle and the dress. maybe because its very me and my personality – id totally rock something that others dont think is great. but when its on you everyone loves it! if youve seen my board and my dress for the wedding – it has an odd ruffle itself. i think it changes it from just a gown to something a little more sophisticated! i like it. and maybe even if you added a small belt?!
