How big is your dog?

My Yorkie’s poop dissapears when it rains. She also only poops once a day (better food= less poop).

My son picks up everyday. It attracts flies if we don’t do it daily but we have 3 dogs. When we just had 2 little dogs only we did it every other day. I have a pretty big lawn but still try to get them to go on walks to give my grass a break

My parents have always had small to medium sized dogs growing up.  When my brother and I were little, they would pick up the poop every day (or, whenever the dog would poop).  When we got older and weren’t as interested in running around the yard, they picked up the poop 1-2x per week.

I guess it depends if you’ll be frolicking around the yard, in my opinion 🙂

When I was growing up me and my brothers had to pick up the yard once a week-ish. Keeps the poo to a minimum.. BUT we also had a fairly big back yard. When I was renting and had a back yard, my dog only pooped right up against the fence or in the bushes… (she’s kind of wierd about it) so I just left it there (she’s a jack russell so she has little poo’s)

Blue Buffalo!!! (but not the weight loss Blue Buffalo. That made her poop more!)

Back when I was a poor college student, I tried Ole Roy (the Walmart brand). Omg the poop!!! I had two dogs pooping 4+ times a day. I couldn’t take it. Too much filler.

Oh haha. My dog stands on the edge of the sidewalk and poops. She HATES walks. She seriously does her business in one minute flat and then begs to go inside.

Try to get her to do it in one area.  My boxer goes in the back of the yard near the fence.  I try to pick it up everyother day or so, and it put it in a bucket.  The bucket has has a lid and lives under the deck.  We put a bag in the bucket, and throw the bag out each week with the garbage.

CONGRATS on the house!!!

My dogs are trained to only poop in the corner of our yard so my Fiance cleans it two to three times per week. They are bigger dogs so it’s usually a lot of poop!!

I clean it up as it “goes down” just like we clean it up when he’s on walks. Don’t want it in the yard and that way it’s not as much of a chore at a later time!

@MrsJ19:  Our dog (who live in an apartment with us for the first 1.5 years) adjusted immeadiately to having a fenced in yard.

We just clean up the poop when it is time to mow so it doesn’t go through the mower.  This is what my parents did my whole life with their 3 dogs too.

We took her to the same spot (back corner, against fence) on a leash every time she needed to go for about 2 months. Now, she only goes there. She’s small so her poo isn’t really a big deal, but we know that area of the yard to avoid. 🙂
