House buying is exciting and nervewracking!

I think if you have guests, then you do have to receive them at a reception of some sort – even if it’s cake and punhc in the afternoon.  That is OK.


I think a backyard reception is lovely!  It will take a little extra work.

I would say to be prepared for your ideas to change, given than you have 7 months left.  I would definitely price it all out and see what it would cost to rent chairs, tables, a tent maybe, food considerations. 

Or you can consider renting a private room in a restauarnt nearby. Then they take care of all the linens, waitstaff, etc.
