I dont think there is much you can do but just keep yourself busy and have lots of fun. That is what I did. πŸ™‚ Now we are finally TTC but we are both in our mid 30’s and time is ticking but you have plenty of time.

@cowgirlace:  Have a baby!

Sorry. I’m baby-crazy and a bad influence so I’m probably not going to give very constructive advice Laughing

I went to a friend’s nephew’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese a while back- I thought about having my ovaries removed after that!

But MrsCarnival:  is right.  Her advice is not designed to talk you out of a baby πŸ˜›  I am just super duper hoping that I like my kid a hell of a lot more than I like other people’s kids!

@DaneLady:  You are sooooo right about CEC. I met up with a friend there for dinner (single Dad …at least they serve beer!) while it was his week with his kid and OHMYGAWD…it was such a shit-show lol.

Babysit πŸ™‚ I babysit my brother’s hyenas, I mean my nieces every couple months or so. It does the trick.

Actually, I love kids. But Darling Husband and I have a pretty strict timeline. We’ll start trying in about two years, and I’m okay with that (though a pill oops would be okay with me, too!). This year has been a total year of fun, and next year is the year of savings, then we’ll buy a house and make a baby.

Remind yourself that you have goals that you want to have met prior to being a mom. Eye on the prize!

@MrsCarnival:  I couldn’t imagine going there if they didn’t serve beer… I mean honestly- some of those kids are terrors.  Well, I shouldn’t blame the kids, it’s usually the parents who use the ball pit as a substitute for actually paying attention to their kids πŸ™  I can tell you exactly where we are NOT having our baby’s first (or second, or third, or twentieth!) birthday parties!!!

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  I literally almost snorted water out of my nose at the fact you called them “hyenas” LOL!

I Googled once what pregnancy will do to your boobs. THAT made me think long and hard before jumping on the baby train!

How would having a baby affect your ability to attend med school?  I know when we had pregnant nurse interns they couldn’t intern once they found out they were pregnant due to the school’s liability policy.  Not to mention med school is difficult enough without taking on the extra responsibility of caring for an infant.  But you also need to consider how your internship and residency may affect baby planning because those are pretty stressful times that may also be bad times to have a baby.  Just that thought pattern alone exhausts me.

I took my pill religiously during law school and up until I passed the Bar to make sure I didn’t have any distractions.  Then I had serious baby fever.  It’s gotten even worse since I took a really stable job with great benefits including medical insurance and short term disability which would allow for me to be paid during maternity leave.  Just try arguing against a baby then.  Our only arguments at this point are that we’re not married yet, we want to travel to Europe before TTC, and daycare is so expensive!
