I am the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding and she isn’t very in to wedding things. I figured that she would have a better bridal experience if we went to a more popular bridal salon. I suggested Gateway Bridal, and it made us very glad that it was not the only appointment we had that day.
For starters, we arrived early and were told we had to wait for our consultant to get back from lunch. We thought that was reasonable, so when we were waiting still 15 minutes after our appointment had started, we never dreamed that our consultant would be the one who walked in about five minutes after we did, standing idly at the counter chatting away with the receptionist. She then proceeded to get snappy and rude every time I had anything to add. She had us go through the racks and pick and choose things for the bride to try, and then she picked some she thought the bride would like. She brought a dress that my friend specifically said she did not want to try on because she hated that style. When she managed to bring something good, it was more than double the bride’s price point. The salon also renames dresses so you can’t find them online. Luckily, I looked at the tag and saw the maker of the dress and we easily found it when we got home. Thank goodness my friend doesn’t have to deal with that cranky, condescending place ever again.
