@liljohns:

I don’t think you’re checking this anymore as you’ve said but the scanning capablities are endless out there.

Simply scan in your hard copies and do with them as you wish.

Hopefully people will read this entire thread when it comes up in a google search.

@MrsTVLover:

She can’t as OP didn’t really lie about what happened.  She just didn’t agree with it.

This post was problematic to begin with–even aside from any potential libel concerns, the luxury hotel business practices that OP seems to be familiar with do not equate to those of a service such as photography. Contracts and pricing schedules do not have to be flexible like PPs have said.

Now that the vendor has come on and explained it seems even more unfair…

Can’t WB remove this post? I know they did when a bee put up a bad review on a photographer and they challenged it.

I could see a bad review if she took terrible photos, took 2 years to give them to you, and when you did get them, they were printed on Walmart paper. But she didn’t. You didn’t even really have a contract.

It sounds like you were pissed because you bought a groupon without researching it and didn’t like the answer the next day.

ok, but she could try something – tortious interference with a contract – i don’t know.  my guess is susie will lose some business from the google search results, and that damaged was caused by OP.

@Miss Tattoo:

I don’t think the post should be removed. If it saves some other person doing a ‘stupid move’ and booking her thinking she will be flexible on stuff, then great.

I don’t this post is any different than a Bee who posts the same thing only its based on the fact they hate their photos or the photographer didn’t take any key photos, etc.

As someone who had a shitty experience lately with a groupon photo ‘deal’ I can see both sides of this coin.

@Oneeleven:I agree.  Everyone is entiled to his/her own opinion.  If the photographer has other great reviews, one bad one shouldn’t affect the business at all.

reviews are fine, but this is an entire thread with the title DO NOT HIRE… in caps.  It does not come up in google like a normal review in the review section might, but comes up right at the top of the search results.  Bad reviews DO hurt business.

@Oneeleven: yeah, but usually bees aren’t posting their vendor names if it’s not in the vendor review section.

This isn’t an actual review. OP made a dumb mistake by purchasing something she had known nothing about and is pissed at the photographer for not working with her.

I guess.  But I too made a stupid mistake and it was almost the same as this OPs and vented in a thread to cry over my split milk, and I didnt’ get lambasted the same way at all.  Maybe I was just lucky?  lol.

I just feel for her that is all.

I think WB has to be careful about this one because if they delete it then it’s almost like taking the side of the vendor.. and then they look like the are endorsing.

This is a tough call.

Like I can vent about a bunch of vendors, but I wouldn’t say,

“Jack at Jack and Jill Cupcake facotry is a total asshole! He tried to charge me for a cake tasting! Why couldn’t it be free! UGH! DO NOT HIRE JACK AND JILL CUPCAKE FACTORY!”

You do see bees venting about bakeries charging for cake tastings, but they never name names. That’s the difference here.

I feel like if you don’t have a contract with a vendor or purchased any goods from them, you shouldn’t be allowed to post a review.

Like developing superpowers, developing a photograph always starts in a lab under the cover of darkness and ends with a transformative dip in a chemical bath. Discover your extraordinary modeling abilities with today’s Groupon: for $75, you get a one-hour Spring in DC portrait session, one 8″x10″ print, and access to an online gallery of up to 50 shots from Susie Soleimani Photography (a $400 value).

Susie Soleimani’s camera pauses visible color and light in timeless moments of clarity and artistry. During a one-hour Spring in DC photo session, faces engage in stare-downs with the camera while cherry blossoms bloom and the Lincoln Memorial’s statue of Abe sprouts a fresh batch of ear hair. Like a timeshare on the moon, the portrait sessions can be enjoyed by brides-to-be, newly engaged couples, families, and virtually any group of humans willing to submit to snapture for the benefit of future reminiscing parties. Along with one 8″x10″ print from the on-location camera jam session, all pixels captured will be made available in an online gallery, which the photographees can use for reviewing purposes or for ordering prints.

Seems as though this OP was just not happy with NOT getting what she wanted out of the deal. Not that she was unhappy with the photographers work (as she obviously was, she wanted the pics without the watermarks and had she rec’d what she wanted, all would have been fine) To make comments about this photographers skill and professional level is all an opinion of each his own. Thats why we search and search some more to pick the photographer that we want. Also seems as though this OP lost of etiquette working for the “luxury service industry” while she was obviously busy brown nosing for customers satisfaction. I’m sorry…the customer is NOT ALWAYS right.  This is a prime example! Also after working 15 years in a “luxury industry” you would think a collegue in that “luxury industry” knew a photog that they could have referred her to.  Just my thoughts.

Weddingbee rules don’t really allow this.  This isn’t the forum for clients and vendors to settle disputes….and weddingbee can be held liable if the vendor sues for lost business.  I think the whole thing should be deleted and we can all move on.
