I had to get my ring sized twice… because the first time the lady wrote it down wrong and it came back HUGE. So I finally get it in and it fits and not even a week later I look down and realize I’ve lost two diamonds! So we go back in and they tell me that it could take months for the diamonds to get replaced so we just decided to get a different ring… which we were probably going to do anyways just because after reading the reviews I saw that I wasn’t the only one who had that problem. So after we pick out a new ring ($2,400 more.. Yay ) the lady tells me it’s going to be at least a month because they send their rings in and it’s Christmas time and they aren’t doing rush right now. CRAP! So it’s been two months since I got my ring and I’ve gotten to wear it a grand total of 2 weeks. I’m so aggravated I can’t stand it. Next time my ring (if there is a next time… I really love this ring) is coming from a jewelry store that has an in house jeweler. Highly annoyed!
The center stone on the new one is a full carat…which I love… but I’m so annoyed by this whole situation. I’m also not thrilled with the payment we’re making… it’s around what we pay each month for our car :/ I’m very put off with their customer service. But since it had been more than 30 days we were screwed.

@jamiemichelle: I’m sorry you are having trouble with your ring but if I were you I would demand a refund and purchase elsewhere! It’s not your problem they kept messing up and put you past the 30 days!

We definitely should have. I mean, the least they could have offered was to send it to a local jewler… but no… they didn’t even do that :/ Making payments on a ring that I don’t have to wear is horrible.

I’m sorry to hear that. I am having the same issue with Beldens-never again!

I would definitely recommend going to a local jeweler in the future. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them.

If you’re already having to spend another $2400, I definitely wouldn’t go with Zales again. Their prices are horribly inflated to begin with.

My husband is all kinds of freaked out about using local jewelers because my parents bought my moms second ring from a local place that had been open for 30 years, it was supposed to have a lifetime warranty and then one day he just shut his doors. So now they’re screwed. The baguettes on the side of her ring have cracked and we don’t know if they’re fake or if it’s just beause they’re very thin, but either way it’s gonna come out of their pocket. It’s a $15,000 ring too, my dad is LIVID.

When the ring came in so huge they should have reordered it rather than resize. Rings with certain stone settings just are not made to have dramatic resizing. The stones pop out!
Good luck with the new ring! I hate delays for regular goods/services at Christmas. Once I ordered a livingroom set in early October and it got delayed and got caught up in the Christmas season. The store flat out told me it was more important to ship to their store the goods they were hoping to sell for Christmas than it was to ship my livingroom set that I had already purchased. I’m still mad. I wanted my new furniture for hosting Thanksgiving and I didn’t even get it by Christmas!

Call every Zales in your area and ask if they have an inhouse jeweler there. I know one of the Zales in our town has a jeweler on site every day.

You can file with BBB if you want!

Ahh!!! i almost got that exact ring you purchased. I have to admit its absolutely friggin gorgeous! Fiance had put a down payment and everything on it but i was clueless and we stopped in at a local jewelry store and i absolutely fell in love with a ring/stone there and i’m happy i did. I got a bigger center stone with great quality vs zales and it ended up being the same price. After we had gotten engaged i found out that Fiance went back to zales and they told him the center stone at best was a SI2 most of the are I1s … my center stone is a vvs1. I do hear good thing about zales from other people who bought jewelry from them. I’m surprised they didnt have this ring in stock for you?? Our zales gave my Fiance the ring right from the counter and then after we got engaged we could bring it back in and they would size it in store within 2 hours. Maybe it’s just our area.

@jamiemichelle: That is why you go with wholesale or local jewelers and get insurance. Proper insurance would cover damage, theft, loss etc for any ring from any jeweler. This way you get higher quality at a reasonable price and the protection you are looking for.
