I bought a beautiful jade DVF dress for an outdoor, evening wedding in July, but now I wonder if it’s too low-cut and bright. What do we think, Bees? (note: the dress is like a bright green or jade, not the turquoise one in the pic)
Good point, honeybear. The wedding will be large (~100-200, I think), and while the invites were not formal, it looks like it’s going to be quite a party. Secular ceremony.
Also, does anyone have any stories about guests who wore inappropriate dresses? Was it the color or the cut that put you off?

I think its pretty, but how formal is the event? I am trying to find a dress to an outdoor wedding in july too, but im afraid if I wear a long dress it will be to formal

I don’t think it is inappropriate at all!

Thats a gorgeous dress! I wouldn’t have a problem if you rocked that at my wedding, but if it was white we’d have a problem (haha…jk)

I think it is a very pretty dress but would agree with Honeybear… how formal is the event?

I would go on formality and then choose your selection based on that. I think it is beautiful for a summer wedding, regardless if it is indoors or outdoors.

I like it and I think that it can be dressed up or down depending on how formal the wedding is. It’s amazing how shoes and accessories can change the whole “tone” of your outfit. I say go for it.

Agree with JamaicaBride–the dress looks to me like it could be dressed up or down to suit the formality of the event, what with the popularity of maxi dresses these days. It’s a gorgeous dress! I don’t think it’d be an inappropriate color or too revealing for almost any wedding, assuming the bride and groom and/or their family aren’t extremely conservative!
