That’s HORRIBLE and I empathize with you!  I just got back from PUnta Cana last Wednesday, stayed at the Secrets and didn’t really enjoy my DR experience either.  My Husband lost his wedding band in the ocean as well…first day there.  I hear it’s good luck, although I’m sure ppl tell me that to make me feel better.  It really SUCKS!

that royally sucks, i’m sorry :[ i think you should try dealing with the manager and if they ignore you then give them reviews on trip advisor & yelp… those are the 2 places i check when planning vacations.

This reminds me of the episode of Sex and the City when Harry and Charlotte get married and EVERYTHING goes wrong, but it’s supposed to be good luck.

@Heatherloveskenny: Yeah I kinda thought I was alone on this but I now am thinking it happens pretty frequently!  The funny thing is my DH told me we should check out the gift shop to see if they have rings there and they sure did.  We bought a ring that was only $20 (fake of course lol) and when we tell people what happened they would never guess he’s wearing a fake LOL  ahhhhh yeah hopefully it’s just good luck!
