@alyssaC:  You’re doing good, this year isn’t a good year to get married ANYWAY around here…everything is either on fire, about to catch fire or burned down and busted!

@alyssaC:  I’m nearing the one year mark for our wedding (just shy of a 2 year wait). It went by wayyyy quicker than I thought. In that time 4 friends got engaged AND married. Some of them were shit shows- so I’m learning what not to do as well.

@alyssaC:  πŸ™ hey girl, I know how you feel. We won’t be getting married until April or May of 2015 (date on my profile is wrong) and some days I feel like it’s forever away. May I ask why you are waiting until July 2015? I feel like some months go faster than others. To keep myself from going crazy waiting, I try to keep myself extra busy. Some say thinking about weddings/going on wedding sites isn’t the best idea, but on here so many other bees are waiting too so it’s great to talk about future ideas and have support!

The reason why we are waiting is so that we have enough money saved for our wedding, honeymoon and towards a house. My SO has his own house but we would like to buy our own home a year or two after the wedding, so we know we will need some savings. I currently don’t have a full time job but hope to have one in the next few months.

I’m one year down with one year to go. I know it sucks but you have the advantage of saving money for everything you want/buying things as you find them at a bargain price and watching everyone else make mistakes that you know you won’t want to make! And there is just sooo much time to plan plan plan and improve your initial plan and plenty of time to DIY so you can save money.
