Yesterday was the worst planning day I’ve had in awhile. I’ve been working hard to lose weight so my dress fits better and I tried my dress on for the first time since I bought it and it’s not better than it was before I started killing myself at the gym. Then our rehearsal dinner venue fell through and we less than 2 months to find a new one. On top of all that, we have been having a lot of trouble with our reception venue and I haven’t been able to get ahold of them all week. We don’t even have our menu set yet and I can’t confirm any of the other vendors until I have everything settled with the country club.
Has any one else had really bad planning days?

@wumple: That is a bad planning day 🙁 I truly hope everything works out from it all. Have you thought about hiring a personal trainer for the next two months to get some weight off? If you only need to lose a few lbs, that should def work!
I actually had a good planning day that stemmed from bad planning month. Our photographer has been taking EONS to get ahold of (as in, I email them, they respond 2 weeks later, I respond right away, they respond to my 3rd email 3 weeks later, etc). I finally wrote on their FB wall “Hi, I have had a really hard time getting ahold of you. I have send three emails in three weeks and would really like a response to confirm our photography session. If you could email me, I would appreciate it.” ANYWAYS, you better believe that they have been emailing me back within 24 hrs again.
I wonder if your reception hall is being like that? I find that one of the massive downsides to wedding planning is that once they have your money, some vendors are quite rude or unresponsive.

I had a terrible planning day on Tuesday, but it was more due to my own issues than any vendors. I finally bought some supplies for our centerpieces and ceremony decor, but I didn’t have anyone to be excited to (FI was out that night), so I called my mom and had to deal with her criticisms (she keeps trying to “help” with decor and she doesn’t like most of my ideas).
My Fiance got home earlier than planned, which really excited me because I wanted to show him everything. When I mentioned my mom’s reaction, he suggested that maybe we changes things to “appease” her – after we’d already planned, agreed, and started working on them!
Yeah, that night didn’t go well. Plenty of tears.

Ugh! This was totally me this weekend!
Our rehersal place fell through too – our church rented their hall out when we had reserved it and it was a nasty mess… Oh well – I think we are going to try to have our rehersal ‘dinner’ at one of the local bowling alleys… It’s actually pretty exciting for me – it will all work out in the end, and ultimately you’ll end up married and that’s all that matters!
