@MrsGo: Some people are SO RUDE! My mom had a similar experience when she went to resize my grandmother’s anniversary ring– the sales person insulted the setting (it was an old style) and told my mom wearing it would be outdated and age her! In the end, her ring is beautiful (5 stone diamond and emerald) and I’m sure your ring is too. Don’t worry about this idiot’s opinion! I’m glad you had a much better experience with the second store.

and then you say “oh you want business? well you have such a sh*t attitude with customers, it just won’t go together. there’s no point in anyone even coming in here to look.” and then walk out.

I kept putting off looking for a wedding band and ended going to the jewelry store very close to the wedding date. I did not think it would be an issue since I just wanted a plain band. When I told the sales associate when the wedding date was, she asked me if I was expecting a boy or a girl! She assumed it was a shotgun wedding–totally was not! I stormed out of the store and cried the whole way home!

I don’t get it, these are salespeople! They obviously need to learn how to be respectful and polite if they ever want to do their job decently, otherwise they don’t deserve your business. Sorry that happened to you but Im glad you find a band elsehwere!

First I looked up your ring and it’s fabulous so she’s a bitch! Second even if your ring is a piece of string with aluminum foil, she should be nothing but gracious and accommodating. I would write the owner a letter! He/she should know one Biatch is affecting business! Yay for finding choices elsewhere.

Well, I agree with Rosworms.  I always say something to that effect when people are rude to me.  I remember I went to look an apartment in October and this woman was absolutely rude.  She was talking to me and Future Mother-In-Law like we were white trash, horrible and stupid people (completely far from the truth).  So, I looked right at her and said “thank you, but I REALLY don’t think we’ll be needing to rent from YOU.  You have nothing but an attitude for no reason.”  Then I continued to call her a bitch and other nasty names as I walked out.  Oh, I was so angry.  Sorry this happened to you.

You would think she’d WANT to show you the diamond bands… she’ll make a higher commission on those! I would call the manager of the store and report it, just saying that they have lost a customer.

Oh my gosh the same thing happened to me in Hatton Garden London!! It was my very first time visiting jewelry stores (looking at e-rings with my now-husband), and the sales people in several shops were SO RUDE and snooty!!! I had even dressed up nicely to go there. ): We joke about it now, how one particularly rude salesman told me to not put my greasy fingers on their diamonds (I didn’t know you’re not supposed to touch the stone?), but it was really an unpleasant experience.

I never want to go back to Hatton Garden, I’ll try to go to another area of London when looking for my anniversary ring now. Anyway I’m glad you were able to find a nice salesperson & get your band! What was the name of the good shop?

@MrsGo: What was the name of that awful store? I’ll make sure to avoid going there when we start looking for wedding bands!

I’m sorry…I hate jewelry people most of the time…always trying to upsale you or insulting you.
