Definitely not a wedding related question, but lots of you are so good with table set ups etc so thought you may have ideas. Each year I participate in a cupcake day fundraiser for rescue animals. I’ve upped the ante a bit each year but really want to get the table/s looking a bit better so they’re inviting. It’s held indoors in a reception area, and I’ve attached a photo of the set up I did last year. The posters in the walls have the cupcake flavors listed. The collection jars have info on what/where the money raised goes to. The table looks a bit disjointed so would like to improve it without spending a crazy amount of money and ideally be something reuseable for each year. I have about a month until the next one so have time to prepare

Hmm…what about getting some cupcake towers instead of laying them all just flat on the table?
Maybe have less displayed and then replenish the towers as you sell them?
You could get some cute picture frames to put the posters/flavours in, instead of posters on the wall. Might give more visual interst to the table.
Maybe coloured table cloths instead of the white? You could even do some doilies or cute fabric on top of the table cloth.
I like the bunting…maybe adding more around the table?
You can probably find all this stuff at the dollar store. They sometimes have cute cupcake decorations you could add to the table (like for example a piggy bank shaped like a cupcake could be a cute decoration).

nkotb : You could consider other options besides tables and tablecloths; here’s an idea: a shelving unit from Ikea, and very colorful trays for your cupcakes (from what I can see, they are very tempting!). On the hanging baskets on either side you could put postcards with information about the rescue organization you’re helping out. You could also spray paint the shelving unit in a color that will attract attention; turquoise perhaps? A good thing is that you can use everything in your home once the fundraiser is done, and use them yet again for future fundraisers. For the wall, what about a collage of photos of dogs that are waiting for a forever home? Good luck, what a beautiful gesture on your part to collaborate with the rescue organization!

I agree varied heights would punch up your displays.

Hunt around at dollar stores, thrift shops for cake stands of varied heights. Vertical would go a long way here.

I don’t think it makes sense to spend $70 on a shelf unit from Ikea. That’s a lot of profit down the drain. I do like the idea of using vertical space however.
On Craiglslist you can always find white wire closet shelving free. Cut 3 pieces the same length and zipstrap them together in a triangular shape. Place one of these towers on each side of the table at the back and hang a couple of shelves with s hooks for display. You can spray paint these if you like. This pic shows a full length shelf but you can cut it to about 3 feet.
It’s easy enough to make a bunch of cake stands for about $2 each. Simply find plates you like and candlesticks of varying heights you like at the dollar store and use E6000 to glue the pieces together.

Ahh these are great ideas! Thank you so much. I’ll keep an eye out for more vertical display items. Last year I just found boxes and tucked them under for a bit of height but definitely want to add more. I donate all proceeds so any costs I just incur myself. But I’m more than happy to amp it up a bit again seeing as it’s become an annual event.

ClaudiaKishi : Frames would be excellent! I’ll have a search for some to add the posters to
