Darling Husband was over the moon excited about our jazz cocktail hour with this amazing trio we booked. Unfortunately our photos got all jumbled up and we missed 95% of our cocktail hour trying to make up the family shots we didn’t get before. When we finally got downstairs most of the food was gone, but everyone looked happy and the jazz trio was doing a great job.
Darling Husband and I each got to pick a priority for the wedding. Mine was photography (as evidenced) and Darling Husband chose food. Our caterer was a chef we have cook us a private in home dinner once a year for DH’s birthday. It is literally the best food I’ve had in my life, so we knew we had to figure out a way to have him cater our wedding. We literally planned our wedding around him, it’s nearly impossible to find a venue who will let you bring your own caterer!
From the cocktail hour we had the world’s longest receiving line. We had 150 guests, but it took forever to get through our line because my Mother-In-Law has the gift of gab. I should have had a conversation with her beforehand telling her to keep it short and that this wasn’t the place for 10 minute conversations. Hindsight. Learn from me bees. Seriously, Darling Husband and I started waving people around our parents because it was taking SO long and we were standing there so often with no one in front of us because the line was stuck at Mother-In-Law. Jeez louise. Anyways, it was pretty comical when we started waving people through and soon enough we were on our way to our meal!
Before heading into the tent, our guests grabbed their escort cards and then found their seats!
