@Ms.Sugarsnap:  UGH! That is awful–so sorry that happened to you. I would call around to any local bakery and explain to them your situation. I bet someone would be willing to work with you on a budget.

if you are really really stuck, try a few local grocery stores. I have heard of a lot of brides getting their cake from the bakery department in them.

Or go to a cutting cake and cupcakes… its cheaper and you can have multiple flavours XD

And wow what a jerk doing that to you…

@EmeraldTiger:  I second the grocery store option.  Just ask them to keep the design simple, and you can totally pull off the “simple, elegant” looking cake!

OK, Flour Shop in Bethlehem is to die for. We’ve had tiny things from there and they were amazing. I’m not sure how much a wedding cake would be but they do make them!

Also, I never really heard of this place but they do do cakes

Extraordinary Cakes

My boyfriend and his family (Fountain Hill, Bethlehem) have been going to Vallos Bakery (It’s right near Allentown) for years…I’m NOT sure if they do wedding cakes though. I know they do other baked goods.

I called my one friend who owns a bookstore in Bethlehem and he suggested Connie’s Cakes

I’ll let you know if they have anymore suggestions. Huge hugs.

I’m so sorry, that is horrible! If a cake is too difficult to order before your wedding maybe you can order a bunch of cupcakes? That may be easier for a bakery to manage..

Good luck!!

If you went the grocery store route I’d suggest Wegmans! They make really good cakes. You could probably work with them and get something very similar to your ideal.

I’m so sorry again!

If you paid your deposit by credit card, it should be pretty easy to dispute the charge and get your money back. Most credit card companies will want you to wait until after the event before they will let you file the paperwork– otherwise, you can’t prove that they’re not going to show up.

Do you have a Costco’s ??  Their bakeries are usually to die for.  Also, Giant food stores do wedding cakes and are delicious !!  Good luck !
