I’m having an early afternoon, Sunday garden wedding. Our caterer is creating a locavore-centric family-style lunch (think panzanella, corn fritters, ricotta and pine nut tart, seasonal salad, etc.), and my Fiance and I would like to complement this with a dessert bar to get guests up and “moving,” so to speak. Now my big challenge is to find one or two bakeries that offer some (delectable) cookies, bars, macaroons, cakes, (no cupcakes, if possible) etc. and deliver in San Francisco. I’ve put in an email to Miette, but my experience with bakeries is fairly minimal (and to think, I’ve lived here nine years!). Do any of you have suggestions for local bakeries that deliver? Thanks!

Hey you should check out Pinkie’s Bakery. I tasted some of their stuff at a wedding we shot. Here is the link: http://pinkiesbakerysf.com

Try Paulette’s for macarons. I have heard nothing but good things! Also, I have a friend that owns a biscotti business if you’re interested in that.

It’s not in SF but in Berkeley. Sweet Adeline.

Thanks for the great suggestions! Just wanted to follow up: I ended up using Pinkie’s Bakery for the cakes (chocolate/chocolate with fleur de sel and vanilla with fresh fruit and buttercream), lemon bars, and brownies (with pistacios and sea salt), Miette for french macarons, and Sweet Lauren Cakes for cake pops (which were the favors). Everything turned out fantastic!

If you’re still interested, a friend of mine is a pastry chef and she just started to offer dessert bars for any type of events. She makes the most fantastic chocolate dipped strawberries. She just started a blog so you can contact her via her blog Dolci Bar. I’m sure she can work out a deal for you since she wants to get started.
