Hi y’all! I’m four months out for my wedding and going soon for alterations. My dress is considered a ball gown, but I’m considering if i need a slip under or not. My dress has layers so it already has some volume. It’s also strapless and i have really been into strap dresses lately! Something like a thin spaghetti strap maybe! From your experience, does David’s bridal have straps you can add onto your dress? And in your opinion, slip or no slip?

Doesn’t look to me like it needs it.

i doubt you’d even notice the difference of a slip…
thin straps would look lovely.
or you could go to a fabric store and see what they have in the way of something unique?

I don’t think it needs more poof. I don’t know if its relevant here , but samples are usually less poofier than the new dress , due to being tried on etc .
Thin straps would be nice, maybe rolled satin/horsehair ones to match the skirt’s trim?

tashia1510 : looks lovely as-is. You could get a slip, but it would just add unnecessary layers/make you hotter. And pleas don’t ass spaghetti straps – they’re so early 00s i cringe every time i see a grown woman in a spaghetti strap dress…they’re made for tweens
