I apologize for not having a photo of me in the gown; the original bridal boutique didn’t allow photos, and I’ve not had anyone to help me lace the gown completely, but here’s my dress:

@ecrowe1218:  Here’s mine!  One of my requirements was that my dress had straps!  I’m not sure if this really qualifies as a “ballgown” right now, but I’m considering adding a crinoline underneath to make it more full 🙂

@ecrowe1218:  Sorry I never tried on a non-strapless ball gown..they are hard to find…but they are very pretty! Are you looking for sleves or just straps?

sorry it’s so big-mine is a discontinued style and I had the hardest time finding it but it’s a Bonny Bliss and I got it from a bridal shop that was selling the sample

This is not the dress I ended up with, but it was a contender.  It’s from DB, I believe one of their Melissa Sweet dresses.  I did not think it was particularly heavy, but I also did not try many ballgowns to compare it to.  I thought the skirt was very flowy and fun.

The dress I bought is a full A-line, but you could probably add a large crinoline to it to make it fuller. Its from the Enzoani Beautiful line. Its chiffon, so its light and airy.

I would recommend checking out Allure or Maggie Sottero. I specifically wanted a dress with straps or an illusion neckline, and I found those two brands to have a lot, including fuller ballgowns. When I tried on dresses, I also found that tulle and chiffon dresses seem to be lighter feeling.

@ecrowe1218:  Here are some I had brought pictures of to my appt. I also tried on some more slim-fitting lace dresses with back detail. If you are interested in those, I can find pics.

This is mine! It’s not in and altered yet, so I can’t tell you how heavy/light it will be on the day, but I love it because it was really fun to twirl in!

Mine WAS strapless, but I covered with a lace top. I really loved the way it looked and felt very comfortable in it. 

I guess it would be on the heavier side, but I wore a hoop so walking in it was easy.

Here is one without the bouquet in the way. Not the best picture, but this is one of the only ones I have where you can kind of see the middle of the dress.

Mine is a full A-line.  You probably could add some crinoline or something to put it over the edge.
