@sheilamelo:  I haven’t done ballet in probably 12 years atleast but my mom is a ballet teacher and ballet will definitely always be in my heart.  It’s one of the only things I can critique the heck out of but couldn’t get up and do it myself.  Thats great that you got back into it! I should maybe take a few of my moms adult classes to get back into it but I always feel so embarrassed that I’m the teachers daughter that is so un-coordinated.

Happy dancing!

@sheilamelo:  Congrats on going back. It’s a wonderful feeling. In case you can’t tell by the screen name, I am… I’m actually retired from performing and teaching now and have switched over to a career as a dance therapist. But I’ve had to take the last year off because of some health problems so I’m definitely ready to go back now.

@sheilamelo:  That is awesome!  I danced for 12 years and stopped in high school.  I’ve been wanting to find adult classes SO BADLY for several years now but haven’t really found any…well I actually haven’t looked very hard because I’ve been nervous/embarassed since it’s been so long.  πŸ™

Good for you!  I adore ballet.  I was never particularly good, but few things made me happier than grand allegro and dancing en pointe.  I went back to ballet class a couple years ago, but I’m just not built for it.  I have no turnout, and a swayback.  I used to be very flexible, but a couple years of distance running and not enough stretching took all that away.  But I wanted to dance again, so I took up tap for the first time since second grade (and that’s the only time I took tap– one year in second grade).  It’s fun!  I took a break for a while, but look forward to getting back into it after the wedding.
