Any other brides wearing ballet flats? I can’t wear heels for extended periods of time because my knees are weak… Also, my Fiance is like a good 4-5″ taller than me, but with heels, we look practically the same height. So, I bought beautiful purple ballet flats. I’ve just not seen any other brides who are wearing flats. I’ve seen some for the reception, but none for the ceremony… Show me your pics!!! 🙂 Or just tell me that you did wear flats/are wearing flats 🙂 Anyone?

I will either be wearing ballet flats or flip flops. I have them, I just need to decide which pair :). We are having an outdoor ceremony on a lake and I will also be walking down steps as I walk down the aisle so heels are not really ideal. Plus I just want to be comfy 🙂

I’m going to be wearing flats. Originally I got 2.5 inch heels on sale (only $30) because I needed 2.5 inch heels or we would have to hem my wedding dress so my mom insisted that we get them, and we did. But I have a bad knee too and after 6 months of physiotherapy it’s only just starting to get better and every little problem sets it off into major pain because we’re working it so hard.
To make a long story short, I’m getting flats of some kind. I just can’t deal with worrying about my knee holding up, which it probably won’t, or about being in major pain for days after even if I do make it through the wedding in heels. This isn’t worth it just to get out of hemming the dress. Now I need to make my mom understand this. She’s a no-pain, no-gain kind of person whereas I just don’t want to be in pain on my wedding day and see absolutely no gain from doing so.

I’m not wearing ballet shoes, but I bought myself a pair of comfortable brown leather sandals. Our ceremony and pictures are outdoors and I figure I may as well be comfortable!

I’m wearing flats. I’m just not a heel girl. I have one pair that are the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn, and I still can’t wear them for more than an hour without it killing my feet. I’ve had foot problems my whole life though.
I love my little red flats! They are lovely and fun and I plan to wear them for years after we get married. Which I find a big plus to the standard frilly white ones that are hard to wear over again.

I already own these shoes in a dark pewter color, but they are getting old and scuffed up. I was happy to wear them as my “something old”, but of all people my fiance got all horrified and said I needed new shoes. So I went to Nordstrom and ordered the same pair in this lovely green.
They are super comfy! I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a flat with some kind of cushioning.

I will be wearing flip flops! Not that I don’t like heels, but I want to be comfortable and enjoy the day. 🙂

@Tswife4ever: love those! Probably because they’re almost exactly like mine (except mine are red) I love the purple!

I bought these shoes and I’m thinking I might at least have them around to change into at some point at the reception. FI is only about an inch taller than me and he doesn’t want me towering over him.

But i have to admit i am getting a cute pair of heals for the pictures with my BMs I want the lift up the dress and see hot pink heals thing…. (I know I can get the same affect with flats but I guess im just wedding brainwashed lol)

I am! I am 5’7″ and my fiance is only half an inch taller, so I need to wear flats. I wish I could wear heels, but our venue is outdoors and so even if I could wear heels I’d be airating the soil all over the place!
I’m going to wear this Vera Wang flat:

I am not wearing flats, instead I am wearing flip flops. They are these beauties.
I actually got them yesterday 🙂 I might get some of those foldable ballet flats though for when we get in the car on the way to the hotel or wherever we are staying that night.
