I’m wearing a ballgown and it’s totally not what I thought I wanted, until I put it on! The way I see it, how many times in your life can you get away with wearing a huge white ballgown? There will be chances to wear slinky, sexy dresses for other events in the future (just not white ones!).

I absolutely did NOT want a ballgown or anything of the kind…. and this is what I ended up with – and I LOVED IT!!!! If I had to do it all over again I would do it again – or find one with more poof lol

I ended up choosing my dress over the runner up because of the bigger skirt.  I just thought it was more bridal, and that there was no other moment in my life that I’d be able to wear something that formal and “statment” like again.

My dress:

@tseay: I must say that I do agree with you; we do have awesome taste 🙂 Maybe we were sisters in another life. We seem to be on the same track.

Ladies; all of your gowns are beautiful!!!

Thank you Belle2Be for posting a ballgown thread ; we don’t really seem to see a lot of them. It is nice to see others that are wearing them too 🙂

@GreenEyedMoon: I love the Justin Alexander gown and I think it would look fab with the coffee color incorporated into it.

for all you girls who have ball gowns, be proud! when else can we get away with wearing a gorgeous dress with a train and veil?! i don’t have a ball gown personally, but i think they’re beautiful and one of my girls had one for her wedding (maggie sottero) and she looked stunning. what matters is that you feel beautiful 🙂

My dress was a ballgown, but I ended up wearing it bustled the whole day because unbustled, it felt like too much dress for me.  I loved wearing it.  I didn’t want to take it off at the end of the night because I knew I would never be able to wear it again!

Thanks for starting the great thread–beautiful dresses.

While I liked mermaid/trumpets on me, I felt like this was my “last chance” to wear something with a poufy skirt.  I also wanted something a little more traditional, so I ended up full-on ballgown with a good size crinnie too.

I know what you mean! I’ve been getting very “stuffy” remarks about my wedding gown. It is a DB dress which gets remarks on its own, I dont know why, but the dress is so lovely, so wonderfully beautiful that i just think they are just jealous.

Seriously big gowns are far more feminine and bridal flattering than ny other silhouette, IMO.

Here’s me.
