I love my dress! I chose not to wear an additional petticoat underneath to make it less poofy, but it has a tulle overlay so there’s still plenty of poof on its own! I agree that the ballgown shape is very flattering for a lot of women and it made me feel beautiful and special. A dress is just a dress, all that matters is that it makes you feel lovely and happy!

Sorry for the weird hand movements, I was talking while my sister was taking pictures!

@jcarr…my SIL wore that at her wedding at it was breathtaking. She got it in white and when the light hit off it it sparkled!

Wow, some GORGEOUS dresses on here!!

I tried on ballgown/a-line and trumpet/mermaid type dresses.  The trumpet/mermaid styles were so slinky and sexy, but this a-line got my heart racing and made me tear up, which ultimately made it the winner 🙂  I’m also now going for a fairy-tale vibe for the wedding, inspired by my dress.

I always knew I wanted a big dress, long or short, but it was going to be a traditional ball gown.  I can’t wait to wear it.  As soon as I saw it in the managers hands I knew it was the dress for me.

I love ballgowns! Some women just look fantastic in them. I tried some on and looked ridiculous unfortunately. Kinda sad =(

Not feelin’ weird at all!!! It depends on the bride, me for example, when I started looking for a dress I wanted nothing more than to look like a princess it is my dream, since I was a little girl, other dresses are ok but they are not what I want, not for the ceremony at least maybe in the reception you can wear a less poofy dress it is up to you!!! I’m wearing a Ball Gown and it looks on me just as I dreamed…it doesn’t matter what other people think, is your wedding…good luck!!

This is the link to mine, but I got it in a soft ivory(more like a diamond white) and the ribbon is the same color. i wanted a dress that was very sparkly, and this one was! I wanted a princessy feel to it from the very beginning, and so did my fiance:)

I purchased the JA 8483 (that GreenEyedMoon posted above, and stayed with ivory). I love the poofy-ness and will be adding more poof for the big day. At the first dress shop I went to, I told them I’ve always like poofy dresses, but didn’t know if I still did … and yes, I still did =) Everyone that went shopping with me really liked it. One bridesmaid even said I needed a poofyer dress when I was trying on a different, slimmer, dress. I knew the bridesmaid would never wear my dress for her wedding, but she knew it was right for me.

I did it because when are you ever going to get the chance to dress like a princess ever again?  Except maybe halloween?
