Anybody have any ideas hor to not sweat a river throughout the night? Yeah, its a gross thought but I swear, it gets to 100+ degrees under that skirt! And nothing is worse than standing at your ceremony and feeling sweat drip down your leg. Yuck. Any suggestions? Tips? Ideas?

hmmm… turn on the a/c more so everyone else is really cold?
strap ice packs to your legs?

Lotion infused with mint will help make you feel cooler if you put it on your legs and things. Unless you get one of those hilarious under the dress fans, that’s all I can think of!

I’ve heard of people wearing leggings underneath their gown. I wasn’t even wearing a ballgown and my dress was still super hot. I ripped off my crinoline about an hour before our reception ended.

I didn’t have a ballgown and it wasn’t even super hot outside, but I was still SUPER hot in my dress after dancing! I went to the outside tables and sat with my bridesmaid and hiked up my skirt to cool off.
I did the same thing in the getaway car too! Honestly, I didn’t get any real relief until I had taken off my dress, crinoline AND spanx in the hotel room. My poor husband had such a lovely sweaty bride on our wedding night! haha. I guess that’s what showers are for though. 🙂

A hoop skirt instead of crinoline!! That was part of what sold me on a ballgown, when I tried mine on it was with a hoop skirt and after trying on tons of dresses that were hugging my legs I was dying of heat! I wore my dress for hours and wasn’t hot at all – in March in Florida I might add 🙂

@wingsofhopegirl: I wish I had thought about that. I have a crinni and it will be July in Texas… I repeat JULY IN TEXAS! I must be crazy…
