I’ve nicknamed my proposal as being “Jersey Shore” style. Because it happened in a spa that offered Japanese-style hot tub soaks and we were in one. lol
The beau had been ring shopping for a while. And, I caught wind of this because a little birdie (aka little sister) told me so. Otherwise, I would have no clue.
A week before the proposal, the beau told me he wanted to go back to the spa that had the Japanese hot tub because he could use some r&r. He said since we’re there, we should also go have dinner at the restaurant with the good beer. I booked the spa and didn’t think anything of it until he suggested that we get a room at a B&B, too. But then, he said, “I don’t want to drink and drive that late.”. Two days before the appointment, he asked me if I wanted to ask any friends to join us. I said sure and texted a few pals. After that I thought, “Ok, this is just a nice weekend out”. For some reason, no one wanted to come hang out and I thought it was because that I had asked last minute. (My little sister called everyone and told them NOT to come. lol) And then, a day before the spa, he told me that we should move in together and see how that works out. (I’m adamant about being engaged with a commitment before living in together.) He told me that life isn’t about, “Bam! Let’s do this!” I told him that “Bam! Is the fireworks, the romance and the sponatenity. And, once that’s there, we can move forward and make plans.” I got a little upset because he gave me a rebuttal. And, he reassured me that we will work things out this weekend.
While in the hot tub, he brought up the convo again. We talked for a few minutes and I said, “You know I love you but I can’t move without a commitment” And, that was his cue to pull the ring out of the water and he said, “Bam!” He gave a nice little speech afterwards but all I could do was turn red and cry.
It’s a cushion cut. I can’t seem to take good photos of the ring.
