My engagement ring is a teal sapphire 6-prong solitaire, and I want to have my wedding band made with 8 small marquis diamonds from an anniversary ring my grandmother left to me. Any ideas? Also, about how much will this cost? Anyone know?

My first thought was arrange the marquis like a half sunray or crown around the sapphire. Or you can borrow from the original design and have the diamonds go from 7′ o clock to 11 o’clock. I am sure the jeweler can arrange the diamonds so it wraps around the side of the sapphire. I like the idea of the diamonds going from low to high, wrapping around the side of the sapphire like a slide.
Instead of getting a second band, have you considered adding the diamonds onto the e ring and wearing it as a standalone?
Definitely use an independent jeweler that does CAD rather than hand carved. You’ll want it to be easy to modify the design if you don’t like the wax rendering.
My ring cost about 3200, but that was from scratch. I think the design fee was about 500? Then you pay for the materials on top of that, which would probably be a couple hundred for the gold? Metal isn’t that pricy, it’s the center stone that drives the price up. I guesstimate that your ring would cost well under 1k because you are already providing the stones. Talk to local jewelers for ideas, it’s fun!

I’d leave the sapphire a solitaire and make the marquise into an east west eternity band!

gorgeous! Google crown bands – you could totally make your heirloom stones into a ring like that! Kind of like a sunburst.

Your sapphire is gorgeous! I agree a crown like band would be stunning! Here’s something similar but this is a moissanite and the band is sterling with cz’s but yours with real diamonds would look amazing!
