Help me hive! Our venue comes with 18 6-foot by 2-foot rectangular tables… so far I’ve come up with two ideas for how to arrange these:
1) by making almost-square tables to seat 8; i.e pushing two tables together to make a 6×4 foot table with 2 people per side.
2) by making loooong banquet-style tables (which Fiance perfers) but I’m not sure that a table only 2 feet wide will be enough to have plates, glasses, wine bottles AND centrepieces and for people to have room to manouvre.
We’ll probably need to seat around 70 people, so either 9 “option 1” tables (8 per table), or 3 “option 2” tables (with 24 people per table).
Do you think 2 foot ‘across’ from the person opposite is enough? What’s the ‘standard’ width for a banquet table? All the pictures I’ve seen look to be more like 3 feet across.
