We are doing bottled beer and wine at our wedding. We are going to either use a 6 ft table or rent a bar for 40 dollars. However, we will have to have ice chests of beer behind the bar. My Mother-In-Law thinks the table will be better because they can put the chests under the table??
Is this normal? What did you guys do for a bar if you had to bring or rent one? Is it going to be ok to have ice chests full of beer behind it? I guess no one will really be able to see, but I’m thinking the rented bar could look more put together.

I think tables fine esp if you guys aren’t mixing drins and just serving wine and beer. Just got a nice table cloth to drape over the table.

We did beer, wine, and 2 mixed drinks, and we were fine with just the table. They had glasses set up and the wine on display… here is some of it behind us. I think we used two tables.

I don’t have a photo but we had 2 bars, both on 6-foot tables. We had the caterer bring the linens to match the rest of our linens, and the bartenders each set ice chests and extra beer/wine/etc under the table where it’s hidden by the linens. Looked fine and was perfectly functional. We did a full bar of beer, wine, liquor, juices and soft drinks but no signature drink.
The only things you would have to make special arrangements for would be a place to keep a glass rack for dirty glasses (this could be also under the table but may be too big, or could just be requesting the waiters make regular visits to the bar to fetch dirty glasses) and if you’re doing a signature drink that requires muddled fruit, you’ll need a dump bucket and many extra ice shakers as the bartender won’t have anywhere to wash the shaker between uses.
