Haha! We are doing this! We have to leave our reception site at midnight, so we are going to go bar hopping in all our wedding attire and then walk back to the hotel since it is so close to all the bars in town! I’m excited and think it will be so fuN!

I think it’s a good idea- in theory.  How wild is your reception going to be?  The reason I say this is that if everyone is drinking a lot at your reception, they might be DONE by the time the end of the wedding rolls around.  But then, I’m an old gal (29!) so I get tired easily now and can’t party like I used to 😉  I think you should plan to hit up one or two bars for sure.  What a fun idea!

I don’t know how fun a bar crawl would be in a wedding dress.

That’s what my parents did for their reception in Madrid in 1970. They went bar/tapas-hopping. Sounds like it was so much fun.

Personally, I’d rather prefer to go to one bar (several of my friends have rented out the upstairs of a bar or something like that) for the afterparty. If there is booze at the reception and/or folks have just been going for a long time (ceremony, reception, etc.) then going from one bar to another may just be too tiring. I feel old typing that, but I’m only 31. Really!

We are going to do this too!  I figure since people are coming to NYC (a first for some!) they will want to experience this city.  I think we are going to go to one bar and stay there.  I will leave it up to the individuals as to whether or not they want to come!  I plan on changing into a “party dress”.  I  have attached a picture.  Its the last one on the right!  I love it!

did this at a friend’s wedding and it was a lot of fun. Suprisingly, the wedding dress did not get us a free jump the line pass with the bouncers but it was fun none the less.

We’re doing this in PA – there are 2 bars right near the hotel. I figure we’ll just take the bus and go out in our wedding clothes if they’re not driving me bananas.  My dress is pretty light, so I think it’ll be ok.

I am changing dresses and we are going to a local club/bar with my wedding party.  Our wedding ends too early (11pm) and we have guests who are coming a long way.  Weddings in France usually go to 6 or 7 in the morning.
