So, I’ve done some research and I’ve somewhat narrowed it down. Do any of you fellow bees have any experience at any of these places? We’re headed out late Sept/early Oct. Were looking for something fairly sucluded (sp?), a beachfront villa would be ideal, luxurius feel. Any other ideas ? Thanks!

I’ve been to both Bermuda and Hawaii. Bermuda is great, but not really a “tropical” vacation, if that is what you’re looking for.

We’re HM’ing in Bermuda at the end of October (taking a cruise but we’ll be there for a few days). We were originally going to get married there but those plans fell through. I’ve never been but I did an outrageous amount of research on the island and it seems like paradise.

Of these places I’ve been to Bali and Maui. Bali for our honeymoon. There are plenty of really pretty, secluded beach places in Bali, some cheap, some crazy expensive. It really depends on if you want to spend 24+ hours traveling to get there – spendy plane ticket, but relatively cheap once you are there. Vs. Hawaii, which I see you are from San Diego, so that’s like a 4-5 hour flight to Hawaii, plus tickets that time of year are pretty cheap in the $3-400 range, but pricey hotels, need a rental car, etc. I can’t speak for the Caribbean. You should think about what your time and buget constraints are.

Ive been to Hawaii (Maui) and while it was nice there wasnt any different culture for the most part. A little bit of the Hawaiin culture. Its fun, its touristy and there is a lot to do, but its still the US
We chose Bali for our Honeymoon because you get a lot of the indonesian culture, with the tropical location and a lot of different things to do that you cant get in Hawaii like monkey forests, rice paddies, cooking local cuisine (and eating too!) etc.
