So I ran out of makeup this morning … Im so bad i been so busy i have said for 2 weeks i needed to go get more makeup.
Now I have been using BareMinerals for about 2 years now and I swear by it…. I would never use anything else unless it was Jane Iredale… but that is a little more than I want to spend.
So I am a combo skin .. mostly oily though get very oily in my T zone.
So i had her try out the Matte and some of the new Oil Free Primer. After hours of being at work… I was not nearly as shiny as I would usually be. Now my makeup always looks pretty fresh as it never looks smeared or rubbed off or smudged but I do get pretty shiny by the end of the day.
It feels the same It has an even better coverage.. & she had me put it on and I feel like i probably used less of it than the original Bareminerals and had more coverage.
So i bought the Matte… I bought the Oil Free Primer& I also bought what they call an eyelid primer. She said it was one of there best sellers and she said it makes your eyemakeup stay looking fresh all day long.I dont know i have not tried it yet…
I must add that I also LOVE Skin Rever Upper
The only thing i dont like is the $3 price increase for the Matte but I do like the new less mess Jar.
Any other ladies out there using the new Matte Makeup ? Or any of the other products i bought?

I love Bare Escentuals, but during winter it makes my face a tad too dry. So it’s my summer makeup 🙁

YESSSSS! I have been using Bare Minerals for a few years now too- and I just stumbled on the Matte Makeup in the fall- I love it too!
Oh, and you will LOVE the eyelid primer- my eye makeup used to crease/get oily and wear off- not since I started using the eyelid primer! Just make sure to follow the directions and swipe a small amount across your lid and let it dry for a minute before putting eyeshadow over it.
Yeah! Bare Escenutals rocks! Love it!

I just bought Bare Minerals and LOVE it so far! Blends SO nice.

I use it (the matte kind also) and I did buy the primer as well, but I haven’t had very good luck with it because it gets flaky for some reason.. it’s like.. I put it on and it dries, then I apply the makeup & the primer just starts flaking. Especially around the cheek/chin area.. so I haven’t been using it.
I was actually told by a consultant at Ulta that Smashbox primer is better. That is what he used on my for my wedding & I had no problem. Not flaky once.

First, I LOVE Bare Minerals! Best make up I’ve tried by far (I used to use Lancome and Clinique). Secondly, I have used the matte and really like it too. I went back to the regular becaue I want to compare the two for my wedding make up, but the matte definitely gives great coverage though I feel like I end up using more of it for some reason than with the regular foundation. I need to try a primer out though, for the wedding day. I might have to check out Bare Minerals or Smashbox!

okqueenbee– I am having the SAME problem with my primer! Which one do you use? I’m using the oil-free primer and I don’t know if I’m using too much or what (although I don’t feel like I hardly use any, but I digress…)
I actually have a question about bare minerals, since I’m using it for my wedding. I have four different brushes and I’m needing some tips on how to get the smoothest coverage. I feel like I buff and buff and it doesn’t always blend nicely. I have a little rosacea on my lower cheek area by my jawline and I also get mini pimple breakouts there as well. That’s the area I have the most trouble with. I currently have the full flawless face brush, the handy buki brush, the max coverage brush, and the soft focus face brush. And with all of them, I am not getting great coverage. Do any of you ladies have specific tips to get more even coverage? I’ve looked at different website and some people heat up their brushes to warm the minerals, and I’ve even tried that without luck, so I’m hoping someone here will have some advice!

I just wanted to put a plug out there for Everyday Minerals–they are an online only company that is awesome and cheaper than BareMinerals. I like their products better, you can get all kinds of free samples, and they’re always running great promotions.

@ Okqueenbee As for the primer… it literally only takes a pea size amount for your entire face…are you using a moisturizer with the primer?? You should still be moisturizing first then using the oil free primer… I tend to be dry and flakey around my nose & mouth in the winter so I just skip applying it to that part & apply it everywhere else with no problems.
@ SeatleBride…. Are you moisturizing or using a primer? Honestly I think prepping your skin is super important when using Bare Minerals bc it is a strictly powder foundation you really need to make sure you have a nice moisturized canvas. I have some pimples and stuff too in my lower jawline area( i tend to break out there alot) I sometimes use the Bisque to conceal if i am really red But havent felt the need to do that with the MAtte makeup. I feel it has a better converage. I usually use the Max coverage blush to conceal then just use my Kabuki to do circles all over my face.
Have you been using bareminerals long? I found when I first started using it I was using entirely to much … that I was caking it on.

Hi ladies..Hope you dont mind..as a makeup artist specializing in bridal makeup..I stay away from mineral makeup when it comes to my brides..it tends to cause a glare in photographs as the minerals glisten ect..also for people with oily skin it tends to change color after a while..kind of orange looking shade…for dry skin its the worse and will flake and fall into fine lines you didnt even know you had.
I think its fine for everyday use ..quick and easy for women on the go with little time..but for that one special day you have planned your entire life..please be mindful of the fact that you have probably invested in a great photographer !
congrats to you all and best wishes!

I’m going to try this during the summer, but for now I have way to much of the “regular stuff” to justify buying something new I might love. 😉

I got the matte right before my wedding to wear to the rehearsal dinner and such – Love it! It’s sooooo light.

I just switched from the original to the matte and love it! I also have the oil free primer, but feel that it makes my screen drier than the regular one.
