I do not like mineral make up.  I think it really really really really aged me.  It did the same thing to my mom…maybe we just have that kind of skin.  We are very oily, so the make up literally caked into what little wrinkles we oily skin gals even had.

I use bare minerals makeup but I am 24. I love the way it makes my skin feel. However, the "primer" they tell you to use called rev-ver upper made my skin really oily and gave me huge bumps so I do not use it. Go into Sephora and they will give you a full trial run face! You can do that with all their brands, they are very nice and helpful about it!

I dont use bare mineral, but I have a suggestion for another makeup that I do use.  I am allergic to A LOT so I have to be careful with my skin, and I have found some wonderful stuff.  It is called Mineral Wear by physicians formula.  It is a talc free makeup.  It is easy to put on and take off.  One thing I really love about it is the eye pack things they have.  It is basically a color palette set up to enhance a certain color eye.  You just buy for your eye and it has the highlights and lowlights all matched up.

Good Luck!

i think mineral powers are da bomb – very easy to use and i see a huge difference (ie improvements) in pics. just remember to moisturize first then wait for at least 5mins before applying the powder and less is best

go to a few department store counters for some free trials

I used it for a year and found it very easy to use and if you need touch ups, all you use is the mineral veil and it makes you look amazing again- however I just switched back to clinique liquid because I need some more coverage.  So – you can try to cover your sunspots with the concealer brush with the minerals, but I’ve had better luck with liquid.

I just turned 30 a few days ago.  Take advantage of these last months as a 29-year-old.  I already miss my 20s.  🙁

That being said, I only use BE makeup, and have for years now.  I never really "knew" how to apply makeup but BE comes with a DVD to demonstrate.  I think it’s easy to do.  The biggest benefit I see is you don’t have to worry about the line along your neck!

The mineral veil should help with any settling into wrinkles….though a good moisterizer can work wonders (I like Aveeno).  The starter package is $60 at Sephora, which sounds like a lot up front.  But, it lasts for MONTHS and Sephora has a great return policy (they say you can return empty bottles if you want!).

I would consider wearing it for a while and testing it out a while before the wedding.  I know that for a fact, I tried Bare Minerals and simply broke out.  I was allergic to one of the ingredients.

I started Bare Minerals a year or so ago – I love it!  I don’t use the rever upper (or whatever its called), but my skin has gotten better since I’ve been using it.  I was never one for washing my face at night, but any minor breakouts I ever had are gone now.  If there’s a Bare Minerals store in your area, I recommend going to them first.  Otherwise, Sephora is another good place to go to.

I’ll be 30 this year also.  Seldom do I wear makeup but when I do, it’s bare Minerials.  It’s  goof proof so you can’t really mess it up and super light so your face doesn’t feel heavy.  I wear mineral veil when I need a little coverage and the blush too for color.

I love bare minerals. My 55 year old aun tloves it , too.

I do not think it’s enough coverage for a wedding though. I think you want something heavier. It’ll look fine in pictures, no worries! But bare minerals is best for everyday. You really can’t mess it up unless you don’t swirl, tap, and buff.

You might want to consider a "filler" type of primer that helps plump the wrinkles so your face has a smoother appearance

Better yet, get a makeup artist or go to a Nordstrom counter for a free makeover, then buy the stuff you liked!

I’ve used Bare Minerals but it just looks terrible on me – I know I’m doing it right, it just looks like junk on my skin.  Oddly enough, I can use, and love to use, Everyday Minerals.  I don’t knwo if their ingredients are different or what, but EM looks GREAT on my skin (and they have a ton more colors and are cheaper) while Bridesmaid or Best Man really makes my makeup look like a hack job.  It’s very odd.  The EM in general has also made my skin feel better overall – I switched back to a liquid foundation for everyday use for like a week and started breaking out in places and went back to mineral foundation.

I second Everyday Minerals!!  I LOVE that they have a lot of different choices for foundation colors. Doesn’t Bridesmaid or Best Man have only four choices? I never got that. Bridesmaid or Best Man has an ingredient in it that a lot of people have reactions to. EDM does not contain that ingredient. I would urge everyone who wants to wear mineral makeup, but had issues with Bridesmaid or Best Man to try EDM. They can be bought online at everydayminerals.com. And the best part? You can order samples for the cost of shipping only!!

I love Bare Minerals.  I use their base and am allergic extremely and have had NO problem!

The suggestion to use a filler/primer is correct.  But I think the bare minerals are awesome and do not age you in any way.

I love also their lip gloss (buxom lips) and a liner.  Looks great!  I don’t use their mascara though.  I use either Fresh’s mascara or Diorshow.  BM’s eyeshadows are great.

Call either Ulta or Sephora (in ATL we have SEPARATE BARE MINERALS stores that are stand alone so you could call them) and find out when a makeup artist is coming.  Get scheduled for that, and try it out.  If you like it great!

I just use a different mascara that’s all..and I use also a gel eyeliner and sometimes use a powder to liquid eyeliner too.

I was really skeptical about it because I hate the feeling of makeup on my face…and while you can still kind of feel it, its quite nice!  I went into Sephora and they gave me a test run, but she put a shade too light on me (fairly light) and she put TONS on..so I looked super pasty white and had a cakey makeup face! hah…Call me crazy, but I went ahead anyway and bought the starter pack with light and fairly light in it (I use light)…I dont mind the revver upper or whatever its called..but again, dont glop it on…ALSO..once you have the stuff play around and see how much you really need…I dont put on half as much as the lady at Sephora did…and sometimes I just use it as a concealer…

I was say its a go for girls who don,t wear makeup..because you can really control how much you want on…if its caking, you clearly have done to much…but it doesnt have that "mask" feeling like wet foundation does.

OH..and I’m 26, and have the onset of some fabulous wrinkles hah…and I have naturally rosey cheeks with freckles…and it doesnt cover me up, but evens me out..so you cans till see my natural rosiness and freckles (a must for my fiance!)…Oh and my skin gets super dry…whcih I was also skeptical about the powder drying me out..but as long as I exfoliate every couple of days and use toner, I’m good to go!

So I say go for it if you want a natural but flawless look 🙂
