Hoping some ladies with BP Moissy’s can help me out!
I’d like to order a 2.26 carat oval from the next BP batch and have it shipped to where I’m currently living (Europe).
Just wondering if I should be concerned about having a local jeweller set it?
Also, for those of you who have BP Moissy’s, have you ever had to send the stone back to be re-coated?

I don’t have one but I’m pretty sure the barely pink coating process is perminant. You should be able to find more info about it on the betterthandiamond forums by typing in “barely pink moissanite” in the search bar. I do know that Jcent has a large barely pink oval moissy, she is on weddingbee and btd forums, I believe she also works at shubachs. Hope that helps!

nicolebee3: Also try thefacetlounge.com, I think you’ll find some ladies with BP over there. JooJooBee is one of them that has a drool-worthy pear 🙂

nicolebee3: I don’t have experience with the pinks, but I had a bad experience with blue moissanite. The coating was damaged and it ruined the stone. It’s not something that can be fixed, I don’t think you could just send it back to be redone. When mine was damaged it’s wasn’t uniform, I had to buy a whole new stone. I think the pinks are much more stable than blues, but I’d still be wary. My advice would be not to have it set by a local jeweller, I’d stick with someone who has ample experience working with coated moissy, and have them ship the finished ring to you. Pretty much any setting you want in Europe you can get for a better price from a US jeweller, anyway, even with import taxes. I learned my lesson the hard way and now I’ll only ever have the coated moissy set by the same jeweller who sells it to me!
