My photographer is doing engagement, bridal, wedding and trash the dress photos for FREE! He has been in the business for over 30 years and is phenomenal.

My DJ is providing 5 hours of music for FREE because we are trading services (I am a minister).

My bouquet, I am making from old brooches and ones that I have found on Ebay. It has cost me about $125 but see above. So it is alright. I am making shabby chic bridesmaids bouquets and those have cost me a cool $30 for 6.

I paid a graphic arts designer to do my STDs, RSVPs, invitations, direction cards & thank you notes $50. Plus the printing company that I have used for my business is doing all of it for about $80 not including stamps.

I found the decorations at thrift stores, Ebay and Craigslist at a fraction of the cost that I would have spent retail.

I over did my budget on my dress but that is alright! It is exactly what I want.

I come from a mostly Jewish family with some fabulous senses of humor. We like to joke about the penny pinching bargain hunting Jewness we all have. I take pride in my awesome money saving skills LOL

So far in my wedding planning I have picked a free venue for both ceremony and reception (Friend of the families’ massive estate). The tent for the reception is being borrowed so that is free as well.

Dance floor and arbor are DIY projects. Estimate is $300 which is less then it costs to rent a dance floor alone. And the dance floor can potentially be sold afterwards.

Favors are homemade apple butter in small jars. Mom bought the jars. And I bought the apples/ingredients. We canned. And I designed the labels and got them on sale. My out of pocket total came to $35 for 90 jars of apple butter.

My wedding band with 10 diamonds accross the top totaling 1/3 carat I just bought 50% off. $550

Save the dates i designed myself and got 75% off due to holiday sales so i paid $12 for 45 save the date postcards. I also received a 50% off coupon for future use on the same website so i’ll use that on my actual invites.

My bridesmaids gifts i took advantage of holiday sales and bought them all silver plated cubic zarconia braclets, normally $60, but i paid $20 each. Awesome!

Got 10% off my dress during a trunk show.

And my uncle is getting ordained in order to marry us. Free

I think the only thing ive paid full price for is the photographer.

Going to a bridal show next month hoping to get some coupons for flowers or maybe table/chair rentals. That’d be neat.

I love hearing all of this!  Makes me think doing my daughter’s wedding cheaply but elegantly is totally possible!

I scored today on christmas clearance!  Her colors are black and white with a touch of red (metal – silver).

So today I got:

~red and white m&m’s, red and white gummy bears, and red and white gummy dots – got enough of all 3 to fill 3 containers – less than $40 (candy bar)

~red and silver wrapping paper and long gift boxes (will wrap box to use as holder for candy bar bags….and who knows what else) – $4

~red, black, and silver ribbon – whole rolls – will use on candy bar jars if we decide to do labels that way – other uses??? – $2 for 3 huge rolls

~2 red chargers for bride and groom’s table – $1

~1 red large serving tray and 2 round red serving trays $8
